A good article about how printing companies soak you on pritners is here:
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2002/09/09/BU149103.DTL

It might be a little slow right now, it's getting heavy traffic.

Some more interesting info

HP sells two kinds of ink, Regular, and X. X is more expensive so people buy it. The catch? Regular is half-full, X is full.

HP brand paper is just bright and dense paper. Any brand of paper that's bright and dense will work well. (Some people wonder if choosing HP paper in the settings will just make it look better on any paper)

Basically this article says that the ppm are exaggerated. Which I've known. And that laser printers are better if you want to pay more and not have color, which I've also known. And that HP photo ink might be useless, which I've suspected.

Thanks.
