Actually, it won't even feed yourself. I had a close friend (now passed) who taught philosophy (he did have a bunch of degrees) but he never could get tenure, and thus spent has life as one of those adjuncts constantly scrambling to get acceptable contracts every year. At one point he was teaching at two schools (Columbia and Rutgers) at the same time, and he didn't feel at home in either of them. In most university departments, if you don't have tenure or are not on a "tenure track," you are basically a glorified temp.Won't feed the bulldog or Kant feed the bulldog?
