well, in reading a lot of the stories on this site, i notice that cheating on a spouse is a common theme. i am not referring to open relationships or consensual extra partners, but doing something you know your spouse would be upset by in pairing [or more] up with another. i have a curiosity about it and am interested in hearing others' experiences and opinions on the topic.
have any of you [who can reveal it without causing themselves problems] done this before? if so, did you get caught and what were the results? would you do it again and what did you learn from the experience?
personally, i have never been married, but have had exclusive relationships. i was the one cheated on and told her i could forgive her once, but if it happened again it would be over. [i guess she decided to test my resolve. bad idea.] i had the opportunity to cheat and was indeed tempted, but resisted, knowing how it would hurt her if i were to do so [and later when i let her know i had resisted temptation, found out that she really would have been hurt.]. i won't say i'd never cheat, but it's against my nature to do so.
