Congress to Airlines - WTF?

What do you expect? If you continually bail out businesses...they continually expect you turn turn a blind eye. Nothing a visit from the taxman can't fix

record-since-the-start-of-the-pandemic flyer numbers being reported by airlines...ironic that the story ran with images of the Delta airline's planes

It's been rather interesting here in Houston. I can tell you from first hand experience.

I commute by air to Dallas each week now, and Southwest decided to give American a kick in the nuts by starting a fare war on the Houston-Dallas route.

It used to be you had exactly four pricey flights to/from Houston-Dallas per day on American, now Southwest has added six flights, United two and American has upped to six flights a day as well.

....And EVERYONE is price matching, so the cost is rock bottom.

....and at these prices, all planes are always full.

American has the best flight times (i.e. early morning, very late afternoons) by virtue of seniority of routes, but they've upgraded their flights from commuter lines to 717s and 737s.

Here's the kicker: you roll the dice booking American, because they have a tendency to cancel the additional flights now due to "lack of crew". Southwest doesn't seem to have that problem.
