Congratulations to President-elect Donald J Trump

Glad you're so comfortable labeling an entire political party in such a way, and in doing that, half the nation. Sorry, I'm a little confused...who's the tyrant?

Until the Republicans start proving they are collectively more interested in helping people than they are in fucking over minorities it's a fair label. Not all of them are that way, and there are plenty (probably a majority) of Democrats that don't want your guns. Many who don't care at all about gays (in particular minorities are outright hostile to homosexuals) and only give a shit about the environment when it's in fashion and sometimes not even then. Still we have to accept the label or find a new party to vote for.

Didn't you recently say that Trump would not win the nomination?

A lot of us did. A lot of us were very wrong. Third times the charm?

Well, that is why we have a congress, though they tend to be useless. For once, I think that will help us. Here's praying the Democrats go full filibuster.

Fuck that. First they don't have spines to begin with. Second they have an obligation to make the country work. If Trump is president that means making it work with him.

And you're saying that Democrats aren't at any fault whatsoever, despite a lot of policies that Clinton put into place during the 90s now backfiring? What about Obamacare. My health insurance skyrocketed. Who's to blame for that?

Shut the fuck up.

Your Healthcare may have skyrocketed. Many did not and many more who couldn't get coverage at all have it now. As for Clinton's crime policies the entire country was crazy at the time. Should he have been better than us? YES. Was he? No. Am I going to condemn him for seeing the samethings everybody else saw and coming to the same conclusions? Nope.

Regardless of who wins the Democrats need to focus on the midterm elections.

Whereas I, a sole proprietor am, for the first time is 6 years, able to insure myself and keep my business open due to the Affordable Care Act. The ACA has brought health care coverage to more Americans who have been without out it, but in need than any program in modern history.
You're assuming there will be no pushback from congress and they will rubber stamp anything he wants, which isn't so. They still have to answer to their donors.

They won't rubber stamp everything, but there will be typical back door shenanigans and he will get some things done. For instance he wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and the congress tried to do that 437 times under Obama...

It's easier said than done. I expect it will be modified in a few ways. I have heard him say in local radio interviews, he doesn't like the mandatory requirement and the penalty. He likes preexisting conditions being covered, wants people to be able to purchase plans across state lines (to lower costs) and favors Healthcare spending accounts. I don't know how that will impact people but they sound like common sense tweaks. Time will tell.

Hail to the Chief we have chosen for the nation,
Hail to the Chief! We salute him, one and all.
Hail to the Chief, as we pledge cooperation
In proud fulfillment of a great, noble call.

Yours is the aim to make this grand country grander,
This you will do, that's our strong, firm belief.
Hail to the one we selected as commander,
Hail to the President! Hail to the Chief!

That doesn't sound terrible to me. TheACA isn't perfect and needs to evolve, I just hope it evolves for the GOOD and not the RICH...

Personally I think it was fatally flawed from the get go because it ( the ACA) was jammed through for politics sake of jamming something through despite the glaring flaws. The end goal is single payer (the government) not good health care. Pre existing coverage is probably the only good thing about it IMO.

I'm going to wait and see what happens.

Well the mandatory requirement and penalty are necessary until and unless we either get UHC or decide that you can't just show up to the ER unable to pay. No money, no life. So you can't fix that.

I don't think this whole being able to purchase across state lines would lower costs. What it would require is a federal mandate setting universal standards that states cannot deviate from. I don't have a problem with this for the most part. I tend to err on the side of the feds.

Healthcare spending accounts are grand, assuming we talk about what happens when they zero at the start. Is that person dead?

That's the reality of our political system. It was now or never with Obamacare. The 57 Senate Majority was not going to hold past 2010 and might not occur again until 2030 or later. Single Payer has been good healthcare everywhere else. I don't think we have the political will to do it.

Post #16.....you even quoted it in post 17.

So....take your pick, but the reality is American Democrats are 10x the tyrants the northern European socialist are and the Rethuglicans aren't any better.

Would you like to pull the partisan stick out of your ass and the (R)epublican dick out of your mouth and try again?

That wasn't a joke? You're a laugh. Where does your liberalism end?

Renard could steal 100's of your threads and I would not know :)
