Congratulations Marchers! Great to see some new names up there! Well deserved, keep on writing!

~Anna wants a high five smiliey:cool:

Good grief! I think either of the other illustrated poems far more worthy of winning but I accept graciously..

Thanks for the congratulations and WTG to the others - both winners and runner-ups.....runners-up?

:rose:

Congrats to all the poets who were nominated for, umm, poems :D

and dont forget to look up that list about an inch and you will see Jim, nominated for his story, Rude Ones, which I really enjoyed, glad to see something so well written up there on the story list

which everyone should read,...( too) :rose:

cheerleader of the poets....hmmm

Damn! The humility abounds around here!

You rock, you rule, come on a little attitude please!

I would love to see the strut of these humble award winners

"You're good, you know it,
now shake your booty and show it"

always wanted to be a cheerleader

hmmm the mental image,
a cheerleader for poets

I am guessing just a quick flash of boobies from across the street upstairs window might do the trick now and then

Gimme a S!
Gimme a T!
Gimme a R!
Gimme a O!
Gimme a P!
Gimme a H!
Gimme a E!

what's that spell
Strophe!
What does it mean?
Ask Angeline!

okay okay, I am usually the last person to get a joke and the last person to use it long after it has run its course....

anyway, congrats, awesome poems!

Gosh. I was never in a cheer before. I wasn't the cheerleader type--I was editor of the school paper and the literary magazine (what a shock, huh?). You know the type: serious, nerdy, beatnik aspirations, wore a lotta black. (Shit. I'm still that way, lol.)

Oh my... I went to four different schools in four years in high school. I was elected editor of the high school literary magazine, but had to move before I could do anything. The school I moved to didn't have a literary magazine. I did get two poems in the yearbook, but my girlfriend was on the yearbook staff. I should say, that girlfriend is now my wife. lol.

Oh Jim, thats so romantic!! is she as talented as you are?

I was an assistant poetry editor for two years on my HS literary magazine and both years I had poems rejected for being to graphic, sexual, or violent...what a surprise there too!! ;)

I have no idea what to say, but thanks. Kind of a cool thing to have happen.

Thanks also for the amazing feedback on that poem and congrats to the other nominees.

Thanks, Maria for letting me know about this with your email *G*

OK...since no one else took Rain up on her "let's see a little attitude here" thing, I should.

But it's not really my style. ;) I guess that leaves Syn.

Besides, I have to say I'm a little surprised. I didn't expect it to do so well. While it's true that I've been doing audio for long enough to know it was good (does that work for you, Rain?), it's such an intimate reading that I didn't know if it would get good votes from men (other than Jim, whom I credit with consistently voting on merit, rather than whether it appeals to him personally.)

So I have to say, thanks for proving me wrong.

We do. The nominees are the top rated poems and stories in each category posted in a given month. ;)

I think it's very cool that up til now, this year, all the nominees have been more or less regulars here at the poetry forum. This wouldn't be possible without the New Poems thread and, I suspect, the Public Comments feature. :)

It's also cool that there hasn't been a single repeat name yet. :)

Thank You

[Bows Humble

I Thank You for the mention...

I must say though that in my poems
case the poem was only half of it...
the voice of Deb aka Bamagirl added
that special southern drawl I was looking
for to do my Audios for the survivor contest
poems.

Thanks Deb~

and thanks again everyone for the support
comments and patience that you ALL have
shown with this HEAD STRONG person.
