Congratulations for becoming the #2 most favorited author on Literotica!

Now I know, some people are going to wonder why #2 should be celebrated, but if you look at this list, you will see that its the highest anyone is going to climb because despite 'never say never' only way anyone is over taking Silk is if she decides to pull stakes and leave.

Great job, HA. you're a good guy, good author, and you've earned this.

Well done! That’s a great achievement.

May you reign number twos for a long time. :D

Hey Heyall! Congrats - that is quite the accomplishment and very well deserved - love your work.

Be safe and well and happy writing

Congrats! Wow, that’s a lot of writing!

Congrats to the many AH regulars also on the list.

Congratulations. It's impressive -- the result of diligent, steady work and fun stories.

Congratulations HeyAll. I've been reading your stuff for years, hope you get #1 someday.

....

Great job there HeyAll. :nana:

And wouldn't you know it, I'm third... from the bottom. :(

Thank you all!

Some thoughts:

-- I was aiming for the #2 spot since the begining of the year. I think I was down by 400 but TXTT still grows as well, so I would have to have a lot. I figured I could do it by the middle-end of the year.

Last month I was about 150 favs down and figured I had no chance because TXTT was still growing. Then I wrote the mom/son/lap/ride story and it gave me a massive boost.

-- TXTT is still writing more stories for the future so who knows what will happen. As for right now he might have suprassed me again, who knows. I plan on writing a lot more, too.

-- I've been writing for 10 years and have spent hundreds/thousands of hours (that's just a guess). I treat writing like a job. I love that mentality. It makes it more fun to wake up with the goal of writing stories.

A big part of the enjoyment is always finding a new angle. Take a popular genre/topic and make it unique. Put a new spin on it, or at least try. Otherwise it gets boring. (more on that below)

-- I've always approached writing like being a buisness man; what does the audience want? etc...

-- Technically I've written over 300 stories (I took some down, many were reposted as anthologies) and one thing I've noticed now is that stories that used to excite me, don't excite me anymore.

Before I could make 4 stories per contest, no problem. For the current Winter contest, I'll have 2 for sure, possibly 3.

The "easy" ideas don't motivate me anymore. Nowadays I like writing stories that are more difficult, where it goes deeper into a character's thoughts, while still being fun and 2 Lit pages. Otherwise I'd be writing the same thing over and over again.

One thing I do now is write in present tense. I also switch perspectives, so the story is told from two characters. That keeps writing lively.

For many people reading this right now, if you write for 10 years and make hundreds of stories, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I also look for ideas like a talent scout looking for new players. The truth is, everything is a potential plot. One thing that bothers me when looking at book stores is that so many books are the same. I check the news a lot and there are always new inspirations.

Hopefully that advice will help some of you.

I'm impressed by authors, of whom HeyAll is one, who can maintain such a high level of productivity. He's published 281 stories in 10 years. I've published 42 stories in half that time. Doubled, it would still total only 84 -- less than one-third his total. And 42 stories is FAR more than I would have guessed I would have published when I started. I had no idea where this was going to go. It was a total shot in the dark.

My guess is it's like that for a lot of authors here. They get the urge to publish a naughty story and things take off in directions they never expected.

HeyAll, as I write this you're now 9 followers ahead of Tx Tall Tales, so I think your grip on position number 2 is pretty safe.

I've been writing for 10 years and have made over 300 stories (some deleted, some reposted as anthologies).

Here are three thoughts:

1. I've encountered a lot of people over the years; writing partners, editors, etc...

Eventually they stop writing because they have busy lives with jobs and/or family. That's the way it goes. That should always be top priority. I've met some really talented writers and it's a shame they've stopped, but that's how it goes.

I think my strength is plot and dialogue. But I've met 2 people who write fantastic sex scenes that are far greater than my own. (SueDanym and another woman who helped write Locker Room Shower and Squirters Anonymous). Both have busy day jobs.

For me I have a ton of free time. That's what you need; passion and lots of time. If I had to work a full-time job, I'd barely produce any stories. That's how it goes.

2. I always look for new angles that keep me excited. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread; present tense, switching perspectives, new ideas. That keeps me going.

I often re-edit my old stories and lately I wonder why they were popular at all. Some I really like, but some I think are too basic. I think raising your standards is a good motivator.

3. If no one read my stories, I wouldn't bother writing that much. Seeing people read my work and enjoying it is the motivation.

I've always said there are 3 pleasures to writing; thinking of ideas, writing the story, then getting it posted and people enjoying it.

Only 20,000 to go

Only 20,000 plus followers and 20 years to go to the top spot and you’ve got the years on your side. 😊 Of course it depends on how many years Jasmine is going to continue as well. 🤔🙄
