Confusing feedback

I got an email feedback today that has me boggled. It was sent anonymously. It read:

18 votes removed, the majority of them 5's? Your submissions are now being
watched.

I haven't removed any votes or anything, so I am confused. Any thoughts?

What it sounds like it's saying is that your story got 18 votes from the same IP address or very similar ones, suggesting it was the same person voting multiple times. The management do monitor votes and remove apparent vote-stuffing, though I don't know the details how.

However, an anonymous e-mail seems a bit of an odd way to do it. I'd have thought a PM would be a more forceful way of saying this if it was management.

If it was management, don't you think it would have said so? I mean this is weird. It wasn't for any particular story either.

Now I feel like I have stalkers.

Sometimes, I write annonymous feedbacks to my stories and really scare myself later!

Check your stories -

Do you notice 18 votes removed from any of your stories?

You should send Laurel a PM (not an email - a PM) and ask.

I don't believe Laurel or Manu would take an action such as that and remain "anonymous."

Perhaps it is one of the people on Lit who keeps complaining about their own scores. They're using this subversive tact to take out their paranoia on other writers?

(Or just an anonymous asshole?)

Sounds familiar - could it be?

Passion -

Please let us know how this turns out for you? We just cannot imagine Laurel or Manu doing anything like that "anonymously."

Like most feedback from the very prolific Annonyamous you are probably best to ignore it. If it was actually a note from one of the site's management folks, they would tell you it think.

Probably someone who didn't like your story and is shocked by the high rating. I wish I had 18 fives to remove from my story! ;)
