Over the past couple of months it has come to my attention that there seems to be a serious lack of confidentiality here on Lit. I don't know about anyone else here but I know that I value my privacy here and respect everyone elses privacy as well, but lately I have been made aware of ALOT of instances in which Yahoo conversations are being archived then being copied and sent to other people without their knowledge, which is causing alot of problems between people.
I don't know how this can be changed...and really...I don't think that it can. I know that I use Yahoo / MSN as a form of communication with quite a few people and would be lost without it. Maybe we all just need a reminder here that trust in a relationship is very important. I know myself that I would not appreciate my conversations being copied and pasted and sent around to other people and hopefully the people that I'm talking to would think the same way.
Not to sure if I'm really looking for responses to this persay...but maybe someone would have some suggestions as to how do you really know when you can trust someone enough to say things that you would hope wouldn't get sent around to someone else.
Hopefully I've made some kind of sense here ... but my main point being ... be careful what you say cause it sure as hell can be copied and pasted and sent on to someone else...and odds are it's not being done for a good purpose.
Edit to add...this kind of thing hasn't had any ill effects on me but has on people I know in general...so just a nudge to remind people to be a bit more careful.
