Yes, it's true. I just found out myself, a few days ago. She's a mafia Don. And she's not the type, so I would have ever thought. I guess that's a perfect cover.
She has quite a large family. They do jobs all the time, and she is considered to be a force among others like her. Like I said, I would have never thought this of her.
I'm not that kind of person, myself. Although I do enjoy movies like "The Godfather" series, I don't think I could get interested in it any more than that. But, now that she's in the family, she's hooked.
No, this isn't real life, but a computer game on facebook. Still, she's not the type I would ever think to do such a thing. The other day, she sent out a mass email to all of her friends asking them to join facebook, in the effort to add them to her family. At that time she even admitted that she's hooked.
I guess that's a first step...admitting it. But, it just floors me to find this out about her. See, I gave her her first computer and almost had to force her to use it. She and my other sister were so naive about them, I thought they should be brought into the computer age.
I've found out she also plays the simple Windows style computer games. She enjoys playing hearts and solitare and spends a lot of time in front of the computer screen.
I guess you never know who's going to be affected. I don't get into such things, myself, but I know others who are very much into games that require a fast computer so they are constantly upgrading to have the latest and greatest with massive RAM and video cards...yadda yadda yadda.
I'm a computer person from way back, but I just don't see the desire. Oh, I'm not doubting it's there in some people, but to see the ones that are affected...it's shocking. These are every day folks, fine upstanding people...and they are infatuated by computer games.
Now that I see it in my own family, I wonder what the next step will be. Is my sister going to be constantly walking the isles of the computer store, in search of her next fix, so she can increase the speed of her mafia bunch? Is she going to start talking with an Italian accent when she comes to family gatherings? Will she be packing heat, too?
Anyway, I just had to vent a little here. I guess when I gave her her first computer, I just never thought it would come to this. It seems I was a part of this, in a sideways sort of way. I've helped in creating a monster. My sister is a facebook Mafia Wars junkie!
Yes...my sister. My 61 year old sister!!
This post is all in fun, of course. I don't see a problem with her playing games, but I still wouldn't have thought that of her, when I gave her that first computer. It's still shocking, but in a nice sort of way.
