The Industry does take precautions and loads of them but what the audience sees is no condom and that is not what needs to be shown. A condom is about as safe as it gets without keeping it in the barn all the time. California is no longer the porn capital. Florida has taken that over.

If you remember when aids first arrived back in the eighties many porns started showing condoms. They got off of it pretty quick.

I never liked condom porn. I agree that even though the industry does try to take precautions to prevent STD's, there have been some problems in the past. However, some of the problems were actually traced to drug use and not sex in the films. Proper controls and precautions including physicals and blood tests would help to keep the industry clean. Back in the day when there were actual long term "porn actors", that was probably the case. Now, there's all this amature porn and quickies with people trying to get enough drug money for the week.

I also agree with the poster that said all the free porn on the internet has pretty much killed the porn theaters of the 60's and 70's (ah memories) as well as driving DVD porn down the tubes. No need to really buy it anymore unless you're looking for some 30 year old classics. Of course 3-D porn and perhaps holographic porn in the future may revive the industry.

For me, porn was primarily about messy sex, i.e. facials, money shots into the mouth and to the tits, and cum dripping down an ass crack. Unless you take the time to remove a condom before a money shot (and I've actually seen some of that) what's the sense of watching porn. Hetero porn performers are tested for STDs on a monthly basis. No current test, no work. A porn perfomer needs to have a current test and a picture ID to work with others in the porn industry. The main problems were some of the girls working as street prostitutes and some of the boys working in Brazil where 'We don't got to cho you no steeenking test!'

Not really my type of condom story. Too preachy. I have a couple I like--both in nightclubs. In one, there are golden condoms hanging from trees on the entertainment stage and those giving sex shows pull them down for use as needed. In another (used several times--from fond memory) there's an inner circle in a club, with patrons standing (and playing) against a brass rail around the periphery. The center is what is called "the pile." Patrons both in and out are given neon-painted condoms in different colors and the whole scene is painted with black light.
