After promising to ask Congress to fully repeal Obamneycare on day one of his administration, the con artist fell back to his usual denials and vacillations when this never came to fruition.
When the first Republican attempt to change Obamneycare finally came about, the con artist was all in. He spent whatever political capital he had trying to cajole Republicans into signing off on the bill, even though it would mean more people without insurance. That attempt failed miserably, which caused the con artist to disavow any linkage to the bill despite his previous bloviating to the contrary.
Now comes word the con artist is trying a new tactic to get a healthcare bill, any bill, through the Republican-controlled Congress. He's threatened to stomp his feet and hold his breath if something isn't done.
"I will be very angry about it and a lot of people will be very upset."
An interesting side note to the current Republican attempt, which is all but certain doomed to failure like the first, is that Republicans have begged the con artist not to talk about or get involved in the political negotiations because of his plummeting approval ratings. Senators such as McConnell believe they will have a (slightly) better time twisting arms to ram through the incoherent plan they've dredged up if the con artist shuts his yap and stays away.
Which raises an interesting question: when was the last time a president, any president, was told to not get involved in a major piece of legislation which can literally be life or death of millions of citizens?
