"Hurricane Irma is of epic proportion, perhaps bigger than we have ever seen."

"Hurricane looks like largest ever recorded in the Atlantic!"

The people of Florida experienced something "the likes of which we can say really say nobody's ever seen before. They've never seen a category like this come in because it came in really at a five."

Thus spoke the con artist in the lead up to Irma hitting Florida, and even today, right before he said this:

"We've had bigger storms than this."

The 180 degree whiplash was generated when the con artist was asked about climate change, the hoax, he claims, perpetrated by China. Considering just moments before he said no one had seen anything like Irma before, it's quite a damming indication his mental decline is accelerating. If he can't remember what he said seconds before, how is supposed to remember anything?

This mental decline has been around since his inauguration. For months leading up to the election, while he and his campaign were busy colluding with Russia, he repeatedly said he would throw Hillary Clinton in jail if he won. However, the moment he took office, all that was forgotten. Just like draining the swamp, just like rounding up millions of illegals in his first hour, just like repealing and replacing Obamneycare on his first day, just like a whole host of other promises he made.

It's a sad state to see someone's mental decline in such a public way. The only humane thing to do is put us out our misery and cast him adrift.

Never touched FL as a 5. First thoughts were that it got the Keys as a 4, but that may be in question also. May be downgraded to a 3 in post season reanalysis.

It did hit Cuba as a 5, so unless The Orangutan considers Cuba part of the US .....

"Irma was most remarkable in terms of the strength of the storm, meaning it was wind, not water, that exacted the most damage. While the Federal Emergency Management Agency estimates Irma’s whipping winds racked up a $14 billion bill, raging floods and their associated horrors were surprisingly scattered and subdued."

Hurricane Irma was literally pulling the ocean away from shorelines

What was it when it hit the American Virgin Islands?

Apparently, Irma was one of the most severe storms ever recorded, maybe even the worst, until it hit Cuba. It lost much of its intensity there, and was downgraded by the time it hit FL. That appears to be pretty close to what was said by Trump.

According to the map on this link, it did not hit the Virgin Islands.

Hurricane Irma rakes Cuba and targets southwest Florida

Hurricane Irma slipped across the border into Cuba overnight as a Category 5 storm, making landfall with 160-mile-per-hour winds around 11 p.m. ET on Friday night. The interaction with the land mass of Cuba has disrupted Irma's circulation enough to diminish its intensity slightly, down to a Category 4 storm as of Saturday morning.

However, don't be fooled -- plenty of mild ocean waters lie ahead, and the storm is expected to regain some strength before making landfall in southwest Florida on Sunday.

The track forecast now takes the storm near or directly over Key West, Florida, on Sunday morning, with a slow trek up the southwest coast of the peninsula throughout the rest of the day.

By Sunday night, the center of Category 3 or 4 Hurricane Irma is likely to be somewhere between Tampa and Fort Myers, Florida. On this track, a potentially devastating storm surge of 8 to 12 feet of water above normally dry ground would move into the southwest Florida coast.

It's always good to do a simple Internet search before making idiotic statements like that, Box. Irma practically leveled the Virgin Islands.

Don the Con is using Hurricane Irma as an excuse for more tax cuts for the rich. It is the old, "We need to cut taxes to grow the economy," voodoo.

The economy has grown more under Democrat presidents when the top tax rate was higher. Tax cuts do not grow the economy; they grow the national debt.

Trump just caved in on the Dreamers. This is the one thing that may hurt him with the low IQ buffoons in the rust belt who want their well paid factory jobs back.

Those people lack the intelligence to know that factory jobs only began to pay well because of Democrat economic reforms. In the dim recesses of their inferior minds they are able to understand illegal Hispanic immigrants taking their jobs.

His mental status seems to decline when he's on Air Force One, I've noticed. He says really stupid things on airplanes.

Said yesterday he's been "proven right" about his both sides comments on Charlottesville (by Alex Jones?). "Many more in the media are starting to recognize it."

He's been outright schizo this week.

Morning Joe cackles in delight as Ann Coulter — author of ‘In Trump We Trust’– cries over betrayal

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough cackled with delight when he learned the full title of Ann Coulter’s paean to President Donald Trump, now that she’s declared him “dead” for apparently softening his stance on immigration.

The “Morning Joe” host mocked hardline conservatives who were angry that Trump had reportedly negotiated a deal with Democratic leaders on a legislative fix to Deferred Action for Child Arrivals — which he promised voters he would end.

“There were actually people who were shocked (Thursday) that Donald Trump didn’t do exactly what he told them they were going to do during the campaign,” Scarborough said. “People like Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter, and Breitbart, but to hear them talk, it sounded an awful lot, it just sounded like members of the mainstream media.”

He feigned shock to paraphrase these betrayed Trump supporters like Coulter, who called for the president’s impeachment.

“‘He’s doing what? He cannot do this,'” Scarborough said. “‘This is a shock, this is the most shocking thing I have ever sewn in my life.’ (Rep.) Steve King (R-IA) was like, ‘Trump’s base will not stand for this.’ I’m like, yes, they will, because Trump’s base stands for everything.”

What do you mean by "pay well" and what is the time frame? I ask this because factory assembly line jobs paid well in the 1940's and 1950's, at least compared to white collar jobs.

Factory jobs paid well during the 1940's and 1950's and even the 1960's because of economic reforms of the New Deal.
