"I believe there was a chemical attack and we're looking for the actual evidence," Mattis said.

"They can only say they found evidence or did not, and as each day goes by, as you know it's a non-persistent gas, so it becomes more and more and more difficult to confirm it," Mattis said.

The "they" Mattis was referring to is an international team of experts who is going to be in Syria on Saturday, almost a full week after the chemical attack. But, as Mattis also said, even when they find evidence of the attack, they won't be able to determine who did it.

In other words, the con artist, who first said Syria and Russia were responsible for the attack, and there would be missiles on the way, is now saying, "You know, maybe I was bit too tough on my dictator buddy. Why not give it some more time to see if something really happened. In the meantime, my master will have plenty of time to get his troops out of harm's way. Wouldn't want to hit them again like we did in February. Boy, did I hear about that. He gave me an earful."

The coward who whined about Obama not doing anything, who, when he had the opportunity a year ago deliberately did not hit a single chemical weapons storage site, has now decided a second chemical attack isn't that big a deal. Not with Mueller's investigation breathing down his neck.

Who knows. Maybe another attack will happen an he'll spend another week playing golf.
