"I really don't like their policy of taking away your car, of taking away your airplane rights, of 'let's hop a train to California,'" (though what airplane rights the dimwit was referring to is unknown).
Thus spoke the con artist last week when he stopped in El Paso, Texas to tout his fake wall. He was referring to the Green New Deal touted by several incoming Democrats to reduce our use of oil and help clean up the environment at the same time.
In addition, when Governor Newsom of California announced he would cancel all but a fraction of the proposed high speed rail project, the con artist pointed out how this was another failure.
"The whole project is a 'green' disaster," Trump said on Twitter,
This would be nothing new, criticizing other people's failures when his own massive failures are front and center, except for the fact two years ago he was touting the train systems of Europe and China.
"We have the worst transportation system and train system," he said in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in April of 2016. "In China, they have trains that go 250 miles an hour. Over here, if the train goes more than 60, it's like collision territory. And we see it all the time - we've got to start rebuilding this country."
In other words, in 2016, when he was saying we should be emulating other country's rail systems, which would, incidentally, also create jobs, particularly in the steel industry, it was a good thing to increase our reliance on rail systems even though it take people away from their cars.
But now, when a governor scales back plans for a rail system due to the huge costs, and rather than pour more taxpayer money down the drain only wants to complete a small section, it's just another example of Democrats trying to take away your cars.
We can take from his words the con artist doesn't really care about bringing our rail system up to the level of other countries, but should continue to wallow in our measly slow speed system along with not caring about all the jobs which would be created.
That he contradicted himself is nothing new. That he does every month has become the story.
