Computer viruses: why isn't fighting this a top priority?

Of all the things government wastes money, time, and energy on, why do they seem to do nothing to investigate and prosecute those who are responsible for computer viruses, malware, etc?

I'm sure the cost to society is MASSIVE. Any other form of property destruction is considered a serious problem. Why is this not seemingly a concern to the authorities? Why don't they do anything to go after these people who send this stuff out???

Its gotten to the point I just budget for a new computer several times a year. Its easier to just order a new laptop than go through the hastle of taking the computer to the store to be restored which is also costly. I use anti-virus software but after a period of time something always manages to get through and start to ruin my computer. Its INFURIATING.

All the hackers stealing millions of files are really clerks who work for the government and major corporations. They copy a million files and sell them to a fence who peddles them to major corporations to open bogus accounts to scam you with.

I get one every five years or so and 360 takes care of it before and tells me about after, sometimes I notice it in the monthly report...
