I already admitted I'm having problems with this to one of the gurus 'round here, so I might as well as y'all.

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0. When I try to lift something from there to Photobucket, I get an error message that tells me it's in an invalid format. I can't find a format that works. Is anyone else having this issue? I don't know if it's a problem with Adobe or my system. If you are having this problem, do you know how to fix it?

Thanks Cutiemouse. I did make sure it said JPEG but it still doesn't work properly. I was hoping that I could use my other photo-editing software but Photoshop won't let me transport files between the two.

Maybe I need to uninstall and then reinstall doing a custom job instead instead of the default?

Check it again for grins and giggles

you probably saved the file incorrectly.

when you go to "save as", you check the format your going to save it under.
make sure it's saved under JPEG, GIF or any other format that imageshack and photobucket allow.

Thats an easy one :) you upload your image to an image hosting site like photobucket.com or imageshack.com then stick it on GT. You set up an account with either one (im sure there are more sites, but I can't remember) then you upload your sig and you get your HTML from it for the image and stick it as your sig with Picture URL here and voila you sig on GT forums ^_^
Just for clarification, the [ ] tags are for BBcode not HTML. HTML elements use < > tags ;)

Heh, yeah make sure you didn't try to upload a PSD file :p

Oooh, more linkages... Thanks AA, I was searching the first one you gave us, but Himself needs me for a bit.

Email from my boss: How come you haven't uploaded the training mod for the subscription radio services? (I write a lot of our online training modules.)

Me: Because Photoshop won't let me upload anything to a website. It was just photobucket and such, but now I can't upload diagrams to the training section.

Boss: Okay. So how are you fixing it?

Me: I have no idea! I've got a friend helping me, but I'm afraid I'm going to have uninstall and reinstall.

Boss: I have a better idea. I'll send you the Adobe Photo 5 with your objectives next week. Email me what you've done and I'll try to upload it.

Me: I like your idea better than mine!

i agree.

I don't know about Photoshop Elements, but in plain old Photoshop 6.0, here's how you do it.

Go to FILE
Click on Save For Web (it will then format it as a web compatible .jpg file)
Click on OK
Then save it to whatever folder you want to use.
If you need to have it available to other computers in your network, save it in your Shared Documents folder.

This will work for converting .pfd, .bmp, or any other image file formats that Photshop will open.

Thanks for the suggestion EG, but again, it doesn't matter what format I save it in, it still says it's in an invalid format. If I remember correctly, I had problems with the installation when I originally did it, and had to reinstall it twice. I'm thinking it may be something funky with the install.

i read something about blowing away a preference file in one of those forums that might or might not help.

Very very interesting.... I also emailed the guy who does the tech work for the online training, and asked him what EXACTLY to select on a custom install for 5.0.

wait, elements 3.0 is that part of the beta cs3 test? I've never had elements, I run the full adobe suit since i do graphic design.

Let me tell you, i've only have a few days with cs3, but besides the lack of brush outline i'm in love.
