For a puter with 128mg graphics card and XP Pro- yeah, $569 is a screamingly good price, long as its not from a crappy company.

IE- will never own another E-machine cause the one I had was buggy as hell and the others I've seen are worse.

Where'd you find that price, if you don't mind my askin?

Actually, the end price is 794.00. Starting price is 569.00 but I upgraded the video card, processor and added a dvd-rw.

The company is CyberPower

Still a great price, especially if you break down the individual costs involved:
OS: $299.99 Suggested retail
Video Card: 79.99
RAM: 139.99
Add about 200 for the DVDr/rw drive.
Plus the case with temp read out (never thought of that but want one now, LOL), it sounds like a great computer at a great cost.

Thanks for the link! Going to have to send it to a friend who's looking for a new gaming puter.

On another thread I started someone here stated their company bought CP puter's for their company to replace Dells. And liked them. So guess we'll see. They got a pretty good rating on Cnet.

If you're going to do much gaming, I'll agree on the RAM increase. Going to a gig on my system (no brand, assembled it myself) did a huge amount of good for games.

So far, I've priced compared and it looks as though CyberPower is about 100.00 more than what I could buy the parts for. So I guess thats about what they charge to build. Not too bad overall.

Suck it up and get a MAC. No more problems with viruses or pop ups. Once you go mac you won't go back.

I thought macs had one use, a paper weight . only reason you dont get virii is because noone wants to write something that will only affect 3% of the population of computer users.

Actually OS X is BSD based and is more secure than your windows machine.

At any rate, that's a good deal. I'd try to up the ram to a gig, but that's just me.

You may want to inquire as to the wattage of that standard power supply. Most are gonna be about 400W, and your description says 420W, but I'd ask to make sure. The reason being that NVIDIA is gonna suck up some power, so a 450W may be in your best interest.

Also, you're getting onboard sound but a full speaker system. I'd maybe look into getting a sound card, maybe an audigy2 or something similar.

Overall, nice PC, let us know how it works out.

Well after thoughtful consideration, I decided to go with this. A Nemesis case with 400w power and 3 cooling fans/temp.

You do realize that this won't come with an operating system. You'll have to either get Windows on your own, or go with another OS.

i don't get why you got 2 CR RWs but everything else looks pretty good to me.

Ya know, I had to look twice at that too. One is a dvd-rw and the other just a cd-rw. One does both. The combo is just a dvd-rom whereas the other is a writer as well.

Yep, no reason for the first drive. If you have a drive that writes DVD-R & +R on dual layer, there is no need for anything else.

Well shit. Guess I have to make a call Monday.

^i'd recommend getting just a straight up DVD drive. That way you can make copies without having to swap discs.
Probably save you about 20 bucks I'd guess :/
Not a lot in the scheme of things but it'll buy you a nice steak ;)
