Think again.It ain't necessarily so.

I had Norton AV 2001,enabled,yet a critter named'JS Exception
Exploit' managed to find its way in,and this is one they're aware of.

Didn't do any damage,I think,and it has been sorted.

Anyway I now have Norton AV 2002,which is supposed to stop even viruses they don't know about.

We''ll see.

Thanks for the alert, Mig. I know I've become rather lax in keeping backups and such. Glad it didn't louse things up that badly for you.

I update my virus definitions/software about once a month. That keeps me current on the new bugs (at least, I hope it does).

I don't worry so much about the actually computer system as I do about all the information stored on it that I am too lazy to back up.

Yeah that's what I meant,the info.

I get the updates but the old 2001 system supposedly protected against known viruses.In my case it didn't.
