Compassionate Conservativism

Lavender, kindly explain how the Jenna Bush situation illustrates the falseness of "compassionate conservatism".

And while you're at it, I'm a bit mystified by your other criticisms. You've criticized the idea of government support of faith-based charities, so it would seem to reason that you'd applaud the Bush administration for backing off their support of them. Or are you just trying to show us something that we already know - that George Bush is a politician. He supports legislation when it's expedient and jettisons it when it's not. You must hold your elected leaders to an extremely high standard of moral rectitude.

You must've just abhorred Bill Clinton then, right? ;)

Let us not forget the administration putting the Regan papers on hold although they are required to be released BY LAW. Apparently the Bush administration needs to insure they are correct. Actually it is to see if Cheney, Rumsfelt and the rest of theit ilk said something that might prove what idiots they are. George Sr's papers to be released in 4 years. That ought to be amusing

You forgot about the hundreds of FBI files in the Bush White House on enemies to the cause.

Oh, that was Clinton.
