I am using Norton Internet Security(which was recentally installed) and for some reason I am no longer able to use Kazzaa Lite. My Kazzaa comes up but the search button does not show. I am unable to look for anything. Does anyone use both of these? I am thinking I need to change the settings(?) on my Norton. Any help given would be great;y appreciated. Thanks in advance. Janisj.

That program is a firewall. KaZaa and such programs are file sharing programs, and there are sometimes virus infections on files being shared. Your Norton program was meant to block out unauthorized access to the computer and it also helps out with keeping viruses such as Trojan Horses from getting into your computer.

In order to use KaZaa or any other file-sharing program while having your firewall up, you'll need to go into the firewall settings program and place the KaZaa program into the Allow list for future reference.

You should have a manual with your firewall program that shows you how to do this. I stopped using the firewall program a long time ago so I apologize if I can't give you a much better guide to helping you. However, I hope I have been of SOME help.

Open Norton Internet Security.
Click on 'Personal Firewall'
Click 'Configure' on the right side of the screen, and another window will open
Click the 'Programs' tab at the top of the new window
At the bottom, you'll see a list of programs...left click on Kazaa, and select either 'Permit All' or 'Custom' (with custom you can decide what gets in and out)
If you can't find Kazaa, click the 'Add' button and add it to the list, then select the Permit all or Custom setting
Click 'OK'
See if Kazaa works. I don't think you need to reboot, but if it doesn't work, it might be worth a try
