Ran across this link on Reddit - a list of common misconceptions and explanations/citations/links with further expansion. I've learned some things from it, thought I'd share.
From an authorial standpoint, this can be a useful tool to inject conflict - one believes a misconception, another doesn't - or personalize a character if taken at a quirk-level rather than an aggressive proselytizer.
