Comments not viewable

I was perusing the latest offerings from HeyAll and JohnLaw1950. At the top of the story pages, it tells me there are comments. When I got to the end, there aren't any comments. I figured it was possible both authors had deleted trollish comments, so I looked at some other new stories that had comments (they showed the little icon and it said 2 or 3), but when I scrolled to the end of those stories, no comments.

Is there some sort of intentional (longer) delay before comments become publicly viewable in the new story view?

I've seen comments made overnight not show up until morning. I checked HeyAll's latest about an hour after your post and the comments were viewable.

I wonder if the issue was my browser. Microsoft recently updated Edge. That almost never bodes well...

I found that (sometimes) reloading the page made them appear.

I found that (sometimes) reloading the page made them appear.

I've noticed that the story hubs will often come up without statistics on recent stories, and those might appear when the page is reloaded.

2. I knew what this topic would be about just by looking at the headline.

Comments don't always load at the exact same time. But eventually they will. Sometimes it will say comments are there, but when you click, they're not there. Or if a comment shows up on the Author's Panel, it's not there yet on the story, but you can find it using your Edit panel for for a story (that little bubble symbol)

But again, it eventually syncs up after a while.
