So I checked my comments today and here is this almost full page comment about a story idea this person has he wants me to either incorporate it into mine or write a new story for him. It involves an old woman. Sorry but that is just not my thing. (no judgement we all have our thing)

The Point.

I really appreciate the time this person took to write this to me but why leave it under Anonymous?
Wanting to respond but have no way of contacting the person.

So here is my advice to you if you somehow read this. Write the story yourself. I mean that in a good way just take the plunge.

That is what I did. I got tired of reading other peoples "mom in lap" stories so I wrote my own. Now it is fairly popular. Don't worry how good it is just do it. I promise you won't regret it.

Now question for authors. Does this kind of thing happen often to you? I'm sure it does. It's frustrating not being able to respond to someone. I don't care about the bad ones they don't bother me at all. But some of the good ones I wouldn't mind responding or like in this case give advice.

Anyway. Still shaking my head at people. Lol

People leave anonymous comments for a variety of reasons. It may be they don't understand or don't take the time to notice that the comment is anonymous. In your case that could very well be the problem.

It could also be that they don't want a response. They may be embarrassed about people knowing they are on a sex story site and they don't realized that no one will ever know who they are even if they sign in and post the comment, well unless they tell people.

For whatever reason, there are those who leave anonymous comments who still believe the writer should respond. I know I've received comments like this and I'd hazard a guess that most of the authors here who allow anonymous comments have. You can leave him a comment on the same story he commented on, specifying who it's for, but chances are he/she will never come back to read it.

My advice. Smile, nod, and get on with life. It's just not important enough to worry about.

My advice: keep writing the stories you would love to read. Those that can and do appreciate them, will seek you out anyway. The suggestions, I'd say just take with a grain of salt. If it is of interest to you to write about it or incorporate the idea - go for it. But, if not, just let it go. I don't really give into people's demands or suggestions when it comes to my stories. I already have a clear idea of what direction I'm going to take my story in anyway - from the beginning.

I usually get the "This reminds me of when me and my..." and then I get every detail of whatever fantasy they want me to think is a reality.

Some people reply under Anonymous because they don't want to interact with others here. Given some of the people here, that's not always a bad choice. Some just can't be bothered to make an account. Some may want to comment on an aspect of the story that they don't want to admit they know something about. And some people here are just assholes and want the freedom to be insulting. Anyway, you can turn off anonymous comments if hey bug you. You can delete them if they're unhelpful or irritating. It's not worth fussing about, since you already have complete control over comments.

As for readers trying to grab the pen... yeah, it happens. I think it happens more to fetish-writers than story-writers, because fetish readers need an exact match on their fetish to get off. You're an example - you couldn't get what you wanted from existing incest so you wrote your own. But not everyone can write a story; look around here and that should become obvious. So they'll try to get someone else to do it. Steal their ideas if you ever see a good one, but otherwise ignore them. I've yet to get a request to write a story that I had any inclination to actually write.

Don't get too frustrated at not being able to respond. If people want you to respond, you'll get a message with an email address in it. That's not all that uncommon. If they don't want you to respond there's no point in trying to contact them; you'll only be irritating.

I got a comment saying "No I didn't do anything, no you didn't do anything to me and it's LAY on the blanket not LIED of the blanket." I'm thankful for the last part, since English isn't my first language (yes, I probably should look into getting help from an editor), but I have no idea what they meant with the first part. And since it's anon, I can't reply either. I know I shouldn't bother with it, but not understanding drives me slightly insane!

Lay or lie:

Some commentators want me to kill myself. Some want me to write of sons anally raping their mothers. One wanted a sequel after I killed-off all the characters. Some say they didn't have to read the story to know it deserved a one-bomb. Whatever.

I've turned anonymous comments off so this was from a named poster on my contest entry Proving My Sanity:

Crap

Do you really think anyone sane is going to read through 6 pages of this crap?

But they had to go to the end of the sixth page to post a comment.
