hello everyone!

i'm new 'round these parts. i've published a few stories here at literotica:

http://english.literotica.com:81/stories/memberpage.php?uid=721511&page=submissions.

what i'm looking for is some advice/comments.

i love writing, but also love to illustrate. i'd like to create more exposure for my artwork (and my writing as well), but not really sure how to go about it.

here's some of my work:

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m292/j_walled/pixie_2.jpg

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m292/j_walled/escape_2.jpg

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m292/j_walled/mannequin_1.jpg

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m292/j_walled/princess_1.jpg

so...firstly. am i wasting my time?

next, does anyone have advice or suggestions on how to get my work seen by more people?

i have plenty more if anyone is interested in seeing it.

thanks in advance for your advice and comments!!!

Libby

Keep drawing and painting - if you love to do it, it's never a waste of time.

Get a good artist's anatomy book - you can find them in large bookstores. It'll help you with proportion, as well as bone and muscle placement...this will give your nude figures more substance and volume.

Welcome to The Visual Artists Corner! :rose:

I have to second Kcar's comment!

If you enjoy doing the art you should keep working on it. Everybody in art started somewhere and kept doing it because they loved it. The more you do the more you will grow.

Enjoy. I did.

Are you an artist, too, Maverick?

Yeah but I haven't done any drawing or painting for years. I do all sorts of 3D art (fabric, glass, etc.) and I am starting to dabble in Electronic art (Photoshop). The photoart I've done is at the experimental level because I am still learning the capabilities of the program.

Keep up the good work, Kcar. :D

I, for one, would love to see your drawings, and also your current work! Is there any way that you could show some of it here?

I'm positive that the rest of the peeps, here, would feel the same way. :nana:

Please post!

Edit: And thankyou for the encouragement. ;) :rose:

I will see what I can find. I took pictures of most of the stuff but I lost a bunch in a computer crash. And most of the stuff I have done is for other people so I no longer have it.

I haven't done any drawing since the 70s to speak of.

This window is in the house of a friend. About 2 feet high and 1 1/2 feet wide.
Didn't feel like doing a suncatcher to warm up so I just did a window for her.

I meant that you should start your own thread, Maverick! Put these there.

You're multi-talented!! o_O

The window looks like it was quite difficult to do - did you come up with the design yourself? Same with the quilt! You are a designer by nature, if so. And a fine one at that!

Again, please make your own thread! ;)

EDIT: Thankyou for being so quick to reply with pics. :D I love to see other people's creations!

I would start a thread if I had more stuff to put up. :D

Yes, I designed the window. I incorporated several things that reflected her interests. And the design just kind of fell together.

The quilt started with a basic medalion design and then incorporated combinations of several other traditional quilt designs.

I happened to be online this morning as with all mornings for the most part. It is part of my ritual to wake up and get moving. I can have my pot of coffee while I perv.

LOL!!! Thanks fer my first laugh of the day, Mavereick!

I wish I could drink coffee like I used to. o_O It sounds heavenly - drinking a hot, fragrant cup with lotsa cream, my PC in front of me. :D

And 2 of your pieces is plenty for one thread...that's all I put in each of mine.

PS: If the design just kinna fell together, then you're intuitive about it!
