Owlwhisper said:So I've got a business trip coming up for the next several days that will give me some evenings with nothing to do; I figure maybe I can use the time to actually do some writing, rather than just thinking about it. But that seems kind of selfish, in a way, for I believe I've gotten far more out of Lit than I've given.
Henceforth a few new personal commandments for myself, to contemplate while I dwell in the land of Anaheim, in the shadow of Disney:
1) I shall not cast fewer votes than others have bestowed upon my own stories.
2) I shall honor my neighbor's comments, for they are not lightly given.
3) I shall not comment falsely, with malice or frivolity, for such is the way of the troll.
4) I shall not covet my neighbor's little red Hs; nor shall I cast aspersions upon them.
5) I shall stick ice picks into the eyes of trolls, unless a more painful remedy is handy. (Who says commandments can't be fun?)
6) I shall not use being stuck in a hotel room with only dial-up as an excuse to spend the evening watching ESPN2.
Got any other commandments for this pilgrim to help him in his resolve to read more stories and, more importantly, comment on them?

8) I shall be duly grateful to my pre-readers and editors, for it is through their kind offices I don't make a huge honking idiot of myself.
