I would think the vast majority of them are potential readers who have clicked on, seen the length of the story, and moved on. Taking into account it’s only been up for a couple of days those who have read it must have spent the majority of their waking hours reading it.
This emphasizes, in terms of being real, something about this that bugs me. When this came up, there had been 12 votes on this. It was posted less than two days previously. It is 31 Lit. pages and 119,000 words. I've been in publishing for a very long time. No one reading random stories on a story Web site is going to read 119,000 words in less than two days after they have stumbled on what is an ongoing series in a two-year hiatus. No one having a real life is going to get 119,000 words read in less than two days at all. So the 12 votes themselves are bogus in real world terms. The votes are not based on having actually read the work, so they aren't prompted by the content of the work at all. We aren't talking reality in anything about the reading/rating of this one. This could be a marvelous work--the rating of it just isn't from the real world.
Let's get real, folks.
