I was just reading this story about Megan Rapinoe announcing she is a lesbian. Last week, it was Anderson Cooper coming out.

Is it really such a big deal anymore, at least from a public figure point of view? Known gay celebs are pretty common place now. I am sure from a personal stand point, it certainly can be a big deal, especially if the people around you disapprove. But does a celeb making a huge announcement really deserve much real attention?

I mean, sure if Rush Limbaugh announced he is gay, that would be a shock. But Adam Lambert? Clay Aiken? Ellen DeGeneres? Megan Rapinoe? Not a huge story.

I like the idea. I wish every Democrat was Queer or aborted.

It's about as important as anything else a celebrity does that's deemed newsworthy. People care about weird shit.

I does not matter to me. I suppose it is the in thing to do to go public with it. That's so 90s. I never heard of 1/2 these people coming out of the closet anyway, so why should I care?

It takes more balls these days to admit you are a heterosexual and remain true to that. Like, why do so many gays and lesbians lash out at heterosexuals who do not give a shit?

Also, while I am on a rant about it, I agree with Candi.

Queer is a career move. Hitler already proved that ordinary, decent folks will gas children for a steady paycheck. Shit! Women been laid atop their desks, forever, to keep their jobs.
