30 minutes gone, its France 0, Senegal 1 !!!!!!!!!!!

Number 19, Bouba Diop, latched onto a cross from Number 11 El Hadji Diouf... Barthez was nowhere!

Eat my Goal, Baldy!

Still Senegal - 5 minutes to go.

Senegals players all play in the French League. Most of France's play in England!

1-0 senegal go on five mins to go (drastically missing zidane)

FULL TIME....

Frog World Chamions beaten by Senegalese Lions, first time qualifiers to the World Cup Finals....

Roll on Nigeria!

There was a few french in our pub - we watched it in a pub near Ashford !! They were not happy bunnies.

France were actually really shit.

The nightmare scenario is now though- England win their group, France come second and England end up having to play France anyway - then Zidane will be back and they will be back in form

Like we're gonna win our group.... :D

Based on that performance France won't even come second.

im going to get up early tommorow to watch ireland game :) (im half irish)

i dont mind if england come 2nd in group but i hope we beat argentina i think we can ... we out played them with 10 men last time :)

But those 10 men included Alan Shearer, Paul Ince and Tony Adams.

Not Darius Vassell, Rio Ferdinand, Danny Mills and co.

If we play like we did against S Korea and Cameroon we might as well not have bothered to fly out there.

i think rio is going to be the out standing defender of the whole tournament ... i think he's been playing really well and cut out every error that he use to be prone to

pre match tournaments dont count for anything they are even more meaningless then normal friendlys :) i think we're do much better against the swedes

So you are not confident then - I think England will do ok actually as long as key player stay fit - Danny Mills I do agree with you

When you watch Rio and Sol togehter, they're just not together. A central defensive partnership needs tobe a partnership. Covering each other, knowing where the other man will be. Adams and Keown. Hyypia and Henchoz, Desaiily and Leboeuf etc etc.

They just dont do it well enough.

Defensively is where we have problems

Well, I've always kind of watched the game, in the sense that if there was a match on TV I'd watch it (though only lately have I gotten channels that routinely show matches, except that they're not Premier League matches, which is what I'd like to see). I did play a lot when I was younger and was a huge fan of the old "Soccer Made in Germany" program which used to show a good match once a week.

Franz Beckenbauer was an idol of mine.

And there's that movie "Victory" which has some of the coolest soccer scenes I've ever seen, though the rest of the movie was a real dog.

I imagine I could be a Man U. fan if I really tried. ;)

I'd rather put myself in as Right-back than Danny Mills. As long as Beckham, Owen, Seaman and Scholes play well we should just qualify.

I just keeping imagining Larsson, Kanu, Lopez and Crespo pulling Rio and Sol 6 ways from Sunday.... *shuuders*

Fuck are they all playing for the same team. I must have missed the close season transfers !!
