Combatting childhood obesity.

If you and your doctor feel your young child should go on a diet, then put them on a diet. However, you can shift the food a child eats, without giving them a complex.

I guess we can't slip some bennies into the soda they drink with their lunch, so maybe parents should take control of the food they buy, or not buy.

I've been listening to the controversy over what this mum did, and it appears the biggest issue is not the diet - it's the fact that the mother knew this girl was obese, but did nothing about it until the child started getting called fat at school.
This is what I don't get about the whole childhood obesity thing... surely most parents would recognise that something needs to be done long before the kid gets called fat?
Where is common sense?
