Barbarians at the gate.
I’m going to make a wild assumption; Poetry is improving at Lite erotica. Some people have grumbled and complained about the sudden seriousness of the resident poets and the comments made on the board. The light and fun personality is gone.
A post last week by Flame entitled “In my opinion” argued that:
“Not much going on here to encourage new poets/story writers.”
“If I was a newbie and read the posts at the moment in this forum I would piss off elsewhere and go, fuck these people are really rough.”
”Oh yeah I am so going to get flamed. But be honest. Do me a favour and read what has been going on. Read the posts as if you were a new visitor to this site.”
”Whatever happened to tigerjen? At least she was positive and upbeat.
“And all you other regulars at Lit that have PM ed me bitching and moaning about what is going on? Say what you think.”
I have only been at lite a month so to me everyone is alive and well. My response is look at the top list. I see a wildly diverse group of new voices, old voices, and voices who have been here but could not get heard. More people are asking (at least publicly) for constructive feedback. More writers are offering to help other writers in public threads, so that we can all hear an opinion or view.
I’m writing this in part to respond to 3 pms I received yesterday. Normally the mail I get is just the typical “fuck off and die snob!” But these 3 were thoughtful and felt that something valuable from the poetry side of Lite had been lost. So I ask you the regular old time poets and poetry readers of Lite to offer your opinion.
