I was on my way to pick up my daughter from school. She was the first one in the family to go to college. My wife and myself were so proud of Dee Dee for doing something neither of us could ever do. She was a bright young girl, she studied hard in school and got a scholarship even. I just hoped she hadn't been working too hard at school all year, and was getting some time for herself. After all, it was a time for personal growth as well as mental. Dee Dee had been kind of a shy girl growing up, and she didn't really talk about school much when we saw her.
Excitement filled me as I parked the car and began to walk over to her dorm building. Dee Dee was coming home for the summer, part of me hoped she wouldn't get a job, she had enough money and her mother and I could take care of her if need be. We both missed her so much, it was going to be nice to have her around the house again. As I approached her doorway I could barely contain myself, I hadn't seen her since christmas and all I wanted to do was give her a big hug. I knocked on the door and waited. No response. I knocked again, but nothing. I paused, listening for a minute. I could hear something, but what? It was too muffled to figure out. I knocked once more, still nothing.
I checked the door, it was unlocked. I contemplated what to do, I mean afterall, it wasn't only Dee Dee's room. She had a roommate, but I had never met her. I slowly cracked the door and peeked inside. I was shocked at what I saw.
