My father was lifer Army - 24 years, 4 months. I went Navy because I thought {at age 18, which = duh-mass} that I knew too much about the Army. Why didn't I think about the fact, knowing what I did about the Army, that my dad's name and influence could have given me just about any posting I wanted (and qualified for), while I had *no* pull in the Navy to get what/where I wanted?
