Does anyone use something besides an actual collar to denote sub status in a relationship, if you what?

- Too curious to survive as a cat

a ring, setting doesn't matter much but it must have 5 sapphires marquis cut and the setting must be yellow gold - my last has 5 sapphires and 2 diamonds, and the setting is yellow gold with a small strips of white gold [top/bottom] with the diamonds set in the center

I once BABTISED a slave to my ownership without a collar. I have heard many say they have used OTHER devices and/or items to denote a status existing between TWO people in a BDSM relationship.

A collar is placed as a symbol of AGREED upon conduct between two people, and can mean just about ANYTHING, but in essence, it DOES tell ALL
that the sub is TAKEN, he or she has a Dom/me.

Protocols vary I am told,...I don't know much about group settings, munches, scenes, dungeons, etc. Just what I have gleaned from others.

(JMHO) :)

Mine is a necklace that my Master picked out. I wear it daily. Its an antique looking silver bead style with a pendant that resembles a dogtag.

Here are some links to other conversations we've had about collars, collaring, and even some pictures of collars and alternatives.

Be warned, some of this goes back to the 'nilla wars, and you may have to wade through heated debate about online versus real life collars. (apologies to LTR and TigerNJ)

An old Collars thread from the GB

online collaring vs. real life--warning, heated

Collars, contracts & brands

the collar picture thread

Hope that helps!

Ooh, and one more because I hadn't seen it in a dog's age. Back when cym & I both attempted to fight the "good fight." Back when I cared more...it's entertaining. An empatically unrelated but interesting side-street: Fallout from the Nilla wars...piercings, symbols, intolerance

Merelan and I do

She is wearing "my" anklet (is that the word?). For the fact of me being too far away to be available should the need arise for her to remove it, it is not "locked" on her by any physical means, but by the fact that she chose to wear it..

This is all very subtle, perfectly ok to be worn in 'nilla world withou raising any suspicion, just a fashionable piece of jewelery, but for her and I it is a chain that ties and locks her to me, holding all the promises and energies between us.

I don't know much about jewelry. I don't wear any, and the only jewelry my partner wears are the two necklaces I bought her.

I searched for weeks trying to find the "collar" I liked. It couldn't be too obvious, but I wanted something more obviously indicative of my "ownership" of her than a regular necklace.

I finally found and purchased a silver, medium-weight chain (looks something like a medium-weight dog choker), with a circular pendant that I had the store owners engrave my initials on.

The other necklace is symbolic of our commitment (since we can not marry, legally). It is longer and is a delicate gold chain with a heart-shaped pendant with a diamond in the center.

The two worn together are quite attractive. Many people (especially at work) notice the "collar" but few actually ask about it. I think they know it is more than just jewelry. *smiles*

Yes, I wear a tiny, thin chain, but it is forged with the strongest of bonds. It is only about 7 inches but spans the world. It tickles me as I walk, and gives me iron strength when I need it.
Simple and pure, yet holding the power to guide and keep me where I choose to be.

Yes, I do as well. I wear a gold box chain choker with a heart/lock, that my master had picked out for me. It is on ALL day and means just as much to me if not more than a leather one that can only be worn in private.

My toy wears this collar and lock when it is inappropriate to wear the heavy rubber locked on collar of My preference.

I wear the key around My neck.

THat is quite similar to the one i wear.....although mine is much daintier, lol.....that must look lovely on your sub.

li'a-wahine

The chain and lock do look wonderful on him and he wears it so proudly as I am sure you wear yours.
