Two of the best years of my life were in Newcastle. When Newcastle Uni was still called 'Kings' by the locals; it had been Kings College Durham till a year or so before I got there, for which reason snobs classed it as 'better than your average redbrick'. Fortunately I didn't meet a lot of snobs there...
