Ok,folks here it goes.I know a lot of you will not believe what I am going to tell you.But it is the truth. You can look it up on Yahoo if you don't believe it is for real.
OK, now on with what's happening to me.A week and a half ago the wife and I decided it was sex night.(I take Viagra so we have to plan ahead a bit to allow the pill to work)This night we had talked and decidedd that after our son went to bedd it woul;d be fun night, but by the time that came about we had decided no we were tired and said to wait one more day.
The wife goes to bed before me and I come in later and cuddle up to her spooning her and she felt great and I started to play a bit and well, one thing led to another and we were going at it HOT and heavy and then wham!It hit me.I got an instant severe headache in the back of my head and neck.It did not come on slowly it hit me like now!It did not come gradually like most headaches do.
So I had to stop and just lay there while the wife got me some Ibuprofen.I tried to have sex a couple nights later and same thing so we were a bit scared about a anuerism.I go to the Dr. and explain it and am told they are coutis headaches.I could not believe it,it sounded way to weird.I mean a headache that only happens when having sex?Come on now.So I thought well I will see if it happens when I masterbate.Yep,just as I was about to cum, wham it hit me.
I have a high pain tolerance.I took off two fingers in between a belt and pulley and it did not hurt. But these headaches mad me about scream in pain.So they did a Cat scan and it came up normal, then the Dr. said it was coutis headaches, very rare and mostly in men although women sometimes do get them.Good thing is it only happens a couple times in a persons life usually. So here I sit with some really good pain killers.Plus now the bad part,I am to abstain from sex for up to three weeks!!!!That really sucks,I am going to be hornier than a six peckered billygoat in three weeks.
So has anyone else heard of these or had them?

a friend of mine gets these - the doc calls them 'sexual headaches' - and she's had them for almost 10 years.
so don't believe the gumf about them always being temporary.
she has to plan ahead for sex by being on the pill, and taking temazapam and bp medsbefore she has any fun.
and god help her if she forgets!

apparently, they're caused by a combination of rising hormone levels, tension and a rise in blood pressure - and they can be unbelievably crippling.

thank god i have never had one - migraines are bad enough, thankyou! - but i am sorry to hear that you've started to get them.

may the god's bless you, and make yours temporary :rose:

Mmmm - yep, I've had something similar, but after smoking "pot"... evidently, smoking only a single seed, or seed husk, gives me skull-busting headaches! I tried my best to satisfy my partner with a nauseating, throbbing, can barely-see headache, but it was NO FUN for yours truly!!!

Interestingly, besides the usual aspirin regimen, darkness, lots of water, and something caffeinated (I drank 'Red Bull') seemed to help the state of my head an awful lot...

My DH had similar problem, we finially narrowed it down to the Viagra. WE moved on the cialis and now no more headaches.
While using the Viagra he did notice that it helped if he took Motrin along with it, 1000MG,

My ex-boyfriend dealt with those...in fact, it was one of the first posts I had on the how-to board, I believe. :) It only happened at the moment of orgasm...talk about a good time ending VERY badly. :(

It scared the holy shit out of both of us. Luckily, it only happened a few times, but when it did, it was horrible. Once it was so bad he even got violently, physically sick. He never did go to the doctor for it, but like you, did a lot of research into it.

We did notice that it happened most often when we hadn't had sex in a while, at least four or five days...and we also noticed that if he was very relaxed (mostly if he had been drinking a little), then they didn't happen at all.

I hope you find something that works. :rose:

I have noticed, and my reading in Masters & Johnson confirmed it, that during sexual stimulation our mucous membranes often swell up. In my case the reaction can be quite severe. It would not surprise me at all if these "coitus headaches" are a related phenomenon. I can only say I hope yours are temporary, 77Cobra, as your experience sounds excruciating.

A side note: I sometimes get the very same reaction from eating very good food. For me, then, calling a meal "orgasmic" is more than just a turn of phrase. :D

I've had this response too. For me it was temporary, lasted about 6 months. Superheadache in back of head/neck just before or during onset of orgasm--yes, yes yes! While the damn things were going on, I found a small workaround. If I breathed deeply, and made sure I wasn't holding my breath as I got closer to the O, the chance of getting one of these--and its intensity if I did still get one--diminished considerably. Also being in any position except flat on my back seemed to help.

that really sucks i have to say . i can feel your pain in some since; i suffer from migraine headaches since i was 6.

but that is not the point ; the point is i get something similar if i dont get off during sex.

my bf got the same thing. It only happened twice, during and right after orgasm.

Weird....
