Serves troubledone a coffee

Hello and welcome. How's things in Hongkong? That is definitely one of my 'bucket list' places to visit.

Hey Anonimaso! Nice thread! and delightful pic at your opening post. I like to bake muffins and those ones look like the work of someone who takes pride in them coming out good. Delish!

I voted the double shot, though most often at home it's caftiere I make, but good and strong. Just a splash of milk and it mud coloured. No sugar. just the taste of the fruit in the muffins.

Enjoy your thread and thanks!

Roasting and Grinding my own coffee beans is my thing

The boyf wants a grinder but we have a truly tiny kitchen. Crowbarring the coffee machine into the corner was enough of a mission. Roasting your own sounds a little labour intensive. I like the ground coffee we buy fine and we keep it in the freezer to maintain freshness. Clearly my palate isn't quite sensitive enough when it comes to coffee!

Well I can't take credit for the muffins, they just popped up on a Google image search! I do pretty good muffins though; vegan and gluten free. I cycle to work, so I have to eat something before I leave and muffins are as about as fuss free as it gets. I've usually got a back up in my work bag too, so I don't collapse before lunch!

At home I'll have a single shot espresso but only if it's my first drink of the day. After that I stick to tea or I just wind up with headaches. We do have a cafetiere but the boyf does love our coffee machine. He'll be jacked up on 3 or 4 before he even leaves the house.

I guess I started the thread because I was frustrated. How do you start chatting and getting to know people when they've all got their own little private spaces? Worst that could have happened is everyone ignored the thread. At least this way nobody's going to set the hounds on me!

I am most certainly a tea drinker, through and through. I enjoy the smell of coffee, but that's about where it ends for me.

Hello :rose:

I'm kind of all or nothing I guess; either an espresso or not at all. I couldn't drink a whole big cup of the stuff and I hate instant. I do love tiramisu but it's not quite the same with coconut cream. :(

How was your weekend?

Apparently I used to like coffee as a child, but how much of it was actually coffee and how much was milk and sugar with a splash of coffee is anyone's guess. Now, though, I have enough tea to fill a warehouse. It's kind of obscene.

But, my weekend wasn't bad. Not terribly eventful, but that can be a plus sometimes. How was yours?

We have one cup with breakfast and sometimes one to wake me up later in the evening. Our daughter-in-law bought us one of those Keurig one cup things.
After we used about 100 of those little premade things for one cup our cheapness kicked in. Wally World sells small red containers for around $5. Wife just puts one spoon full of Folgers in it and makes two different cups.
It ain't fancy but it's coffee! A $5 can lasts two months. We didn't get old and own two houses, old cars, RV's and other shit to go camping and travel by being wasteful.

I've even tried to get my wife to use both sides of the toliet paper. She hasn't figured out yet how to stop getting poop on her hands.

The same I guess, thanks. The weather was awful, so I mostly pottered around the house.

We're going to go out tomorrow though, as we have a couple of days off work. If it's not raining sideways we'll have an hour's stomp through the countryside and then a pub lunch.

Ugh. It's 11pm but I'm not at all tired. Time for a beer.

Hi guys, I've seen you around. Nice to have some silver surfers getting their freak on. If I make it to my dotage I hope I have your zest for life and sense of humour. :rose:

Nothing wrong with saving your pennies.

Actually with toilet paper the cheap stuff is a false economy I think. You need loads of it because it's thinner. I started buying branded and I'm actually getting through it slowly enough that it's not an extravagance.

Love my coffee.. And tea! Time for one now as I try to escape reality with a few stories here...

Hi and welcome. Hope you're enjoying your stories.

I'm doing OK with my stories and only have a few on the go at the moment. The one I most want to post to is proving elusive in terms of inspiration. I'm at the stage now where I'm deliberately trying not to think about it, because in my experience if I do that successfully a decent post will drop into my consciousness when I'm not looking.

pretty please

Me 3! Love a good cup of coffee or espresso. Damn, now I may need to go make some more....

There's voting to be done here tomorrow, finally, so at least some portion of my day will be taken up with that. Hopefully that won't take long, but you never can really tell until you get there.

After that...farmer's market? I haven't entirely thought that far, if I'm honest.

Thanks. Sometimes I joke a bit. Yes the cheap TP is a waste of money. It's like using waxed paper. We use one of those quilted fat rolls that says something like four-in-one.

But enough about crap. I've already seen a lot that here but we still love most that we've met and are planning on sticking around awhile.:)

It's almost time for that evening cup of coffee.

Peanut butter + chilli sauce on toast = instant satay breakfast. :)

tries & fails to eat daintily

I have 3 SRP posts to churn out today and I shall do so from my bed.

Someone knows how to start their day in style!

Hi!

Tea for me I think, green.

Hope your SRPs are treating you well?

Morning Scuttle :rose:

Hi BK, well my SRPs are treating me better than I do them at the moment. I have two just starting, which is always fun. The other one is further outside my comfort zone and my character is taking over the world, so it requires a lot more thought in terms of plot etc. I've started a couple of posts for it and them binned them halfway through as fatuous crap. Maybe it'll be third time lucky for my patient co-writer.

How are you guys?

I'm drinking the spicy elixir of SRP again too, discussing ideas with someone with a view to starting out soon. I'm impressed by some of his other work so I'm going to have to really focus on doing the story justice. Particularly as his concept is already really close to heart.

Invested, much?

Two fun starters and one ambitious one where you're reaching for perfection. What sort of post size do you try for? Obviously it depends on what you're responding to, but generally?

*sips tea*

Hi Scuttle!

I am..still working my way back after such a long absence, if I'm honest. But it's slowly getting better, and maybe as the best sign, I'm starting to get ideas again. That and the plotting was generally always my strong suit, so when I had a hole where ideas used to be, it was a tad worrying.

But! Slowly but surely. One step at a time and such.

Hello...Blind? Kitsune?

Hello, Lindkit!

Lindkit?

I like it, I think!

I'm coming back from an absence as well, drawn back by a friend and a particularly good story. It feels like there's hardly any of the same names here though - maybe I was just moving in different circles last time?

If you're starting to have them again, what sort of ideas are you kicking around?

And, tea or coffee?
