COCKTAILS Anybody?

I use to Bartend years ago. I don't think I have seen this one around Lit.

With the weather breaking for spring and summer...What is your favorite cocktail and the recipe to make and for all to try while lounging around the backyard or on your porch, balcony, etc...?

This is my favorite that I put together. I call it "Your Screwed"


1 part Cruzan Banana Rum
1 part Cruzan Vanilla Rum
! part Cruzan Pineapple Rum
1 Part Cruzan Coconut Rum
1 part Calypso 151 Rum
1 Part Parrot Bay Orange Rum
2 part Pineapple Juice
2 part Cranberry Juice
1/2 part Rose's Grenandine

Normally 1 part equals 1 ounce/oz. unless make a pitcher for a party.

1 part(s) Cruzan 9 Spiced Rum
1 part(s) Cruzan Rum 151
1 part(s) Cruzan Vanilla Rum
3 part(s) Orange Juice
1/2 part(s) Grenadine
3 part(s) Pineapple Juice

Instructions
Combine ingredients, mix well. Pour over crushed ice in a tall glass. Garnish with a fruit wedge.

Ingredients

2 parts Cruzan® Aged Light Rum.
1 part DeKuyper® Triple Sec Liqueur.
2 parts Pineapple Juice.
1 splash Grenadine.
Garnish Orange Wedges.
Garnish Maraschino Cherries.

I got a boat load of them for you and can help you out on all the terminology ... They are easier to make than you think... Just buying the ingredients is where it hits the back pocket. But fresh fruit always make them better. Oh yeah I got a good twist on the screwdriver too... Vodka now comes in a lot of flavors too. Just don't have to use the plain old fashion vodka any more. But I do enjoy my old fashioned screwdriver.

Dang yall just going to work, but got to remember some of us work at night. People look at me funny with a six pack of beer at 7 am lol... Yall take your happy little butts on to work dayshifters... My 4 day weekend just got started lol

I can't believe there isn't an active cocktail thread on Lit. Not just recipes, but drink art, maybe even coupled with hot people. You had the right idea, OP. Need to get one going. Proper cocktails and good sex go great together

A good Sazerac will set you free.
You will need:
A cocktail shaker
A chilled rocks glass
Rye whiskey (bourbon can be substituted)
A lemon
Simple syrup (sugar cubes can work)
Absinthe
Peychauds and Angostura Bitters (most recipes only use Peychauds)

Fill shaker with ice. Pour in 2-2.5 oz of whiskey. 1/2 oz simple syrup, 5 dashes of Peychauds and 2 or 3 Angostura. I add a little lemon zest and if I have a small wedge handy or if the lemon is cut, I'll squeeze in a couple drops. Cover and shake for 45 secs. Set down the shaker and retrieve your chilled rocks glass. I keep some absinthe in a small pump spray bottle. Usually 2 squirts, one on each side, will coat the glass. If you don't have a spray bottle, just pour 1/4 oz into the glass and swirl it around until the interior of the glass is coated. Now strain the contents if your shaker into the glass. Grab your potato peeler and shave off a nice piece of lemon rind. Rim the glass with the inside of the rind, then I like to char it with a little hand torch before dropping it into the glass. If you prefer, you can skip the char.

Kosher salt
1.5oz fresh grapefruit juice
Good squeeze of fresh lime juice
3oz of silver or reposado tequila
1.5oz club soda

Preparation

Pour some kosher salt on a plate. Rub rim of glass with lime and dip in salt. Combine grapefruit juice, lime juice, Tequila, a lot of ice. Top off with club soda.

Also, I feel the need to talk about Hurricanes. And although I rarely make or drink them anymore, they have become a bastardized version of themselves. A true Hurricane should have light and dark rum, passion fruit syrup and lemon juice and that is all. There is a modern version that omits lemon juice and adds orange juice, lime juice, simple syrup and grenadine that is tolerable.

Beer has changed so much over the last 10 years (at least in the US), it's hard to not find something that appeals now.

I do like beer occasionally. Nice cold one when working outside and it's hot. Enjoy IPAs when in the mood and a pilsner or pale ale with some wings. Bourbon barrel beer is interesting. Definitely a couple of whatever is on-board when fishing.

But, I Just don't drink much of it...it fills me up after a couple and feel a bit bloated if I'm not sweating it right back out in the sun.

Martinis and wine mostly for me
