Coalition of Authors

Good day everyone. I am just getting to the point where I consider myself able to attempt writing for the sake of sharing my work, as opposed to keeping all my writing to myself.

However, I have always appreciated and desired someone to work with on many of my pieces; someone to offer advice, to help overcome a block, to help weave the storyline. Are there any more like me? Is there anyone out there that desire a counterpart?

Specifically, is there anyone here that would like to hear a few of my projects and work with me on them?

I would not object to this thread becoming a hub for any author to find a partner, regardless of whether or not I am involved. I am looking for someone to work with and, if anyone would like to hear some of my ideas, let me know... PM, or post. However, if anyoen else is looking for a partner on their works, feel free to advertise yourself here. I don't mind. :)

Princess Jessie,

Are you looking for a writing partner, a collaborator, or for an editor? If it's the latter, try checking out the Editor forum.

Sure... PM me with something that you would like to work on.

Author's What?

Not solely an editor, no. Certainly a writing partner would have similar, if not more intensive, responsibilities. However, I am looking for an equal partner to write the book alongside of me, someone that adds an and to the author..."Jhon Doe and Jack Crimson".

I am looking for a writing partner. Question, I see the phrases 'writing partner' and 'collabortator' to be roughly synonymous. What is the difference between the two?

Author's what?
MG

I admit to that typo. :) I initally intended to call the thread, "Author's Coalition".

Sure... PM me with something that you would like to work on.

Will do! Thanks for the interest. :)

Dear Quaz,
I'm afraid this whole thread has been a terrible mistake. She meant "cotillion." You can go ahead with the coaling, but I sure hope someone hired a band.

Dang, and here I thought we were starting a union to get paid several times our current rate.

(someday I'm going to work out the math prove that 0 * anything isn't enough to talk about)

One moment...

Just a thought, but perhaps you guys have something better to do than hijack a thread? As much as I enjoy your company, it does seem to be of a type I am not interested in pursuing.

Thanks...

but it gotcha back here.

Tell us more, please, about what you are trying to accomplish.

A chain story, a whole trove of shorts, real stories, or vignettes?

(patiently pursuing purity - she won't give in though)

Ahh, lack of experience...

It may be the idealic nature of the young and inexperienced, but I don't plan the length of a story beforehand.

Here's what I do...

When I am struck by inspriation (thoughts, scenes, passing trucks..) I write it down in a new notebook. As I think about it and let the thought set in, I am usually able to start and continue a story as the plot unfolds for me.

Ideally these would all be full length books. Realisticly they are probably good pulp fiction paperbacks with a hugh font to fill space. :)

I would like to write real stories. Sometimes I come up with a plot, other times just a setting that could host stories, etc. I want to be able to turn them into publishable and enjoyable stories that have meaning and all that stuff we are supposed to be able to do with the written word. :)

What I am looking for is someone who I can share my outlines, listen to, decide where the story should go, and read what they wrote for the story. Anything from each writing a chapter to both of us writing at the same time to...whatever works best. An equal partnership.

Forgive me if I don't quite answer your questions adequately. As I said, I am just now bringing my writing into a public setting. I can almsot guarantee I don't know all the proper names and phrases...everything has it's esoteric aspects. :)

Dear Princesse,
Anyone starting a thread on here expecting it to remain pure and unhijacked is heading for a disappointment.

I certainly feel put in my place, though.
Humbled,
MG

Thanks...

Thanks for that... :)

In understand a bit of banter but, and perhaps this isn't how you intended it, I felt like I was being attacked...that's all.

Dear PJ,
Attacked? Here at the AH? Oh, perish the thought.

Ps. You wouldn't, by chance, be related to Prince Jonny, would you? I sure miss him.

Depends on what threads you're wearing.

Princess, I don't know if I'm much good for collaborating, but I would give it a try, especially if you've done it before. You would have to be the author in charge so I could learn to find my way around in that dark tunnel between the minds.

'Sides, with you being a Princess, I have natural tendancy to want to give you what you want.

PJ's.

As far as co-authored stories go, we have two varieties here.

There are chain stories. They occur at least once a year - probably oftener - and consist of a slew of stories, each from different authors, threaded together, following some connecting device to lead you through the group, as though they were chapters in a novel. These can be found under the rather repetitive Main Archive Category “Chain Stories Stories.”

KillerMuffin is usually the instigator of chain stories, I believe.

Secondly, there are Snippettsville Stories. These are a recent development. They are stories from every author who wishes to try their hand. To participate, you must first research the background town, and its inhabitants, and read at least a number of stories to ascertain their style.

The MAIN REGULATION is word length. Each entry must tell some sort of story in 600 words, exactly. (I believe there is a tolerance or 1 per cent: 594 to 606, due to the various ways word processors count words.)

At the moment, stories already written are being bundled 3 or 4 stories to an 'Issue,' in preparation to be published in the regular "Literotica Archive."

The Story Discussion Circle is the forum from where the Snippettsville short stories are currently being run.

Any questions you can't find answered by reading the threads, can be addressed to wildsweetone, who is its editor.

While I am unaware what exactly it is they do, I believe something in the way of multiple authoring is being done at the Chyoo Site, as well.

Lol...

I admit, I probably overreacted. :)

Anyway, Quasi, I appreciate the info, but I am looking more for actual novels and so forth, no online authoring. This is mainly for IRL type stuff, not neccesarily related to the Lit or even to sex...ohh darn. :)

Sorry, I don't know Prince Jonny...

Ffreak, I like that attitude...I think we'll get along just fine...:-D
I'll PM you the list of what I am working on, let you get a feel for what I like to write, (anything) and see what you're interested in...

Any threads you're not wearing aren't worth talking about.

You, on the other hand, threads or no threads, are worth more than just talking about, blissful one.

-FF (happy for you)
