I have posted this on the Story Ideas forum, but to no avail. All they were interested were incest and celeb stories. Now, I will try again here.
I have a rough idea for a gay male story, but I'm looking for help to avoid making it tacky and / or offensive. Also, I need help with portraying gay life (since I am straight myself). The basic plot is this:
In quick need of living space, James moves in with Richard, who is gay (a fact James does not seem to notice). Because of James' gentle nature and physical beauty, Richard falls in love with him, but hides his feelings since he is unsure of James' sexual orientation. To help Richard, his friends try to find out whether James is gay or not, which leads to various scenes of rather comical events.
My aim is to do something like a Shakespeare comedy, combining comic characters with a profound love story. If you're interested in co-writing such a project or helping me in any kind, I would appreciate an answer in this thread or a PM.
Also, if you find the premise itself offensive, tell me!
