I have a rough idea for a gay male story, but I'm looking for help to avoid making it tacky and / or offensive. The basic plot is this:
In quick need of living space, James moves in with Richard, who is gay (a fact James does not seem to notice). Because of James' gentle nature and physical beauty, Richard falls in love with him, but hides his feelings since he is unsure of James' sexual orientation. To help Richard, his friends try to find out whether James is gay or not, which leads to various scenes pf rather comical events.
My aim is to do something like a Shakespearean comedy, combining comic characters with a profound love story. If you're interested in co-writing such a project or helping me in any kind, I would appreciate an answer in this thread or a PM.
Also, if you find the premise itself offensive, tell me!
