Hello all,

Hope everyone is doing well these days...

I have something of a technical question or question of protocol...

I have a story ready to go. Rather large, about 22,000 words divided conveniently into 5 chapters. The story is a standard adult heterosexual sex tale (fiction) written by two people. That is the events of the story are related by two authors (the man and woman) from their two different points of view in more-or-less alternating paragraphs through all 5 chapters.

The text of the chapters, each in a separate file, are wrapped already in simple html using a simple font and it's italic form to signal the change in author... The other author will shortly have a literotica login, and what we want to do is have the story linked to both names in the author list... Is that possible here on literotica? Is there anything we need particularly to do to make that happen?

I'm not entirely new here (there is a story, book review, and haiku I've published here), but it's been a while... If I remember it was really hard trying to communicate directly with the folks that run this place...

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give on this...

Well, I know a few writers here have collaborated on stories, usually they come up with a new nifty user name and submit their story that way. I don't think I've seen a story that has been attributed to two seperate authors.

22K words isn't that big, that's the size of my average chapter....

A new dual-username would probably work well. Just mention the names of the two authors in the author's notes before you start the story.

I've collaborated on my humor series, and I added a link to FTFs submission page to the beginning of the story. What I've been told ( and had go through the submission process without problem ) is that links to things like submission pages here on the Lit site are okay to use. I've also linked back to the author of the tales I'm spoofing in the author's notes this way as well. It has to be a link to something on Lit, and not a personal website or something like that.

I don't think it's possible to have one story listed on two member pages, but I could be wrong.

You're not wrong.

When Emerald Kitten and I co-wrote 'Cut and Dried', we could not submit the same story on two sites, so we tossed a coin and put it under my name. We did put a paragraph at the start of the story, explaining that it was co-written, and why it was on my site and not hers.

But as some of the others have said, if you want to post it as co-written and both names take credit, then I would suggest you open a new account that you can both access with a new name that denotes you both.

OK. Thanks for all this info. I'm grasping it imperfectly... yes, I could publish under my name and put something in the author's notes, but the idea was that someone searching for either of us by our "author names" here would be directed to the same story. I didn't realize there was an option to include more than one email address on a single account (the second option noted above). I might give that a try, but that sort of spoils the author continuity, there being no way (apart from some statement in the profile) to know that author X writing story A is the same person as author Z who wrote story B, etc.... But thanks again... Will consider these options...
