It's the abbreviation {symbol} for the renminbi (or yuan). Shares of PetroChina or Sinopec or CNOOC are, of course, quoted in renminbi on the Shanghai exchange.

Why would someone that claims to be from China call it CHINESE New Year rather than just, you know, New Year?
Dragon, right?
Your suppose to eat dumplings and fish...
My wife stayed up until midnight on the 22nd, just to eat her fucking dumplings. The Chinese believe it brings good luck as they are shaped like old money.
I always wanted to be a rabbit. But I'm a sheep. Or a goat. Depending on what restaurant I'm in. WTF is that? All the rest are the same, but mine's one or the other, and they're both mind-numbed pack animals.
There is no goat. So, you can be a sheep or a rabbit.

Sweet. I'd be a rabbit if I could pick- but 1991 is a sheep right? August?
It's the year, not the month. There are 12 different ones, naturally. Next is the snake year. It's a bogus Chinese restaurant if they show you a goat as part of their zodiac. A ram yes, it would be the sheep.
