Oh, I'm not upset with Manu or Laurel at all babe, don't think for a moment I blame them... it is one of the problems with web-publishing... it is so easy to snag and use other people's stuff.

again, my only real complaint is when people take my stuff and try to steal the credit for the creation as well... I had one kid in some asian country steal the SAME story (this is a popular one for thieving), though the other version (story is told from both sides), did a global search and replace of the names... and then posted it as a slash fiction for some gaming site... and had the gaul to ask at the end "I'm not sure about my dialogue... do you think I should rework it?!?"

LOLOLOLOL the brat couldn't even come up with his own original story and he's asking if he should "improve" upon my writing? *falling over, laughing my ass off* if I hadn't been so annoyed, I'd have just wept from the irony.

fortunately, I contacted the site owner and proved the story was originally mine and the kid had simply done a "global search and replace" and the site owner took down my story and banned the poster... apparently he only wants original fan fiction on his site and doesn't appreciate fakers LOL

What was this site? They probably have some of mine too, unless this is the gay site you wrote about earlier. The site that is the subject of this thread has about forty of mine and the sister site probably has more.

I don't remember what the name of that other site was... it was over a year ago. I honestly didn't explore the site, I just did my thing to purge my story from it and never went back. My readers keep tabs on this stuff for me, I'm forever thankful.

well, I received an Email from the webmaster of the site:

I removed your story from our site. The story was submited by one of
our surfers... all stories are submited by surfers...I'm sorry for that,
but its impossible to check who the story belogs to If you have some
nice and exclusive gay stories I can pay you some $ for posting it
here.

They took a TON of my stuff!

I think we should put a note at the top of everything that says, Copywrite myname 2006 permission granted to post by literotica.com only. (Especially for sites like this that just lift them right off. That way, at least if anyone reads them, they will know where to go to find them they way they are meant to be presented. (and probably make it easier to track down and eliminate)

I just pinged both sites and did a whois against the Apnic database...he is still on a Chinese server.

Looks as though he has redesigned one of his web sites.

yep I hate that site! my stories are there and I wish they weren't! That site sucks its basically a definitely rip off of Literotica! It has the same catagories as Lit.

That inclusion of a Lit. link in the first paragraph might be a good one. They just rip these stories off, one page only, without paying any attention to what is said at the beginning or end. I usually include a paragraph at the end of a story asking for votes and PC, and they include this para. If we include a sentence at the beginning, that might well be included in what is ripped off. If so, it isn't such a big deal. I really don't mind people using my smutty stories, especially on a free site, if they give credit to me and Lit.

What bugs me the most is out and out plagiarism. Sometimes I will google a line from a story and will find it plagiarized somewhere, and the thief has changed the names of the characters and claims to be the author.

I am editing this post to add an example of the latter, if it works out. This story was written by me in October 2005 as "Angel likes to get on top. The guy who plagiarized it even left the paragraph on the end where I ask for feedback.
