I am beyond thrilled that I figured out how to post something! I'm so lost, and have absolutely clue as how to get "started"... guess this means I'm a virgin once again...ha ha

Hello Sherilyn and congrats on losing your cherry. :D

The important thing, I suppose, is to remember that this is a societal construct. Rather like walking into a party in full swing with people mixing and mingling. You're going to bump into assholes and cheerleader "bubbly" types both (myself leaning reputedly towards the former).

Some of the old timers can get a little snippy if you bring up a topic of conversation they have been a part of before. Just ignore them as best you can. Just because they taught Methuselah about it, doesn't mean you might not have some thought on the subject. Ironically, those same old timers can get just as snippy when a thread is resurrected as opposed to creating a new one on a similar topic. Hence the reason I say ignore them. Contrary to their belief, no one here carved the stone tablets for Moses to bring down to the masses.

Having said that, the FAQs are probably a good place to start. (Top left of your screen.) Once you've exhausted the possibilities there, the "sticky" threads moderators have found important enough to "stick" to the top of the various forums are chock full of yet more pertinent information.

I will just say that within the year, rumor has it that we will all be learning a new interface assuming Mistress Laurel and Manu Manu the Slender get it operational (finally). And then we'll all be virgins with only a passing idea of what goes where fumbling in the dark together.

At any rate, I'm not sure what more I could say to a "clueless cry for help" without more specifics. But, you should prepare yourself for a flood of well meaning people (and a few pricks) who will offer sage advice that upon mature reflection you might decide are thyme.

Best of luck and welcome to the nut house.

Even more Clueless

Welcome. After many years my wife and I are virgins also. Kinda feels good in a scary sort of way. Being old enough to have actually chisled on some of those stone tablets I still don't have a clue how to write properly or stop being honest.
So there's no doubt I and my wife, if she ever gets on here, will step on a few toes and piss off some of the members who I've already seen "know it all".
Neither of us went past high school and rarely use any five dollar words when basic English often works. If we make mistakes either correct us or go to the next word. We're not here to dazzle anyone or become famous authors.
I've basically read the rules and try to follow all of the important ones. Still rules can be changed. I'm just going to add some of the favorite stories that we've had hidden in the closet most of our lives before we die so all of these very important adventures will not be lost forever.
Therefore my advice Clueless is be your self and have fun. Life is too short to worry.

Welcome and good luck.

You won't be a virgin long...about 50 posts or so, if I remember correctly.

I do however forget how many are needed, it's been so long ago, to be able to specify your own title.

Have fun.

If your here to play...try the playground forum.

If your here to write...try the Author's Hangout.

Otherwise, just explore.

Me too

I feel the same way about being overwhelmed trying to get the hang of this site. I've been on for a few weeks. It is getting a bit easier as time goes by...

Wow.... A virgin again. I think when I was in college I knew lots of born again virgins.

Then there's all that advice that others gave you. Just be yourself and have fun.
