I stopped by the post office late one afternoon to drop off a package that needed to be weighed . While standing forever in what seemed like the " ignor me please" line , I felt a tap on my shoulder . To my suprise and delite , it was a small petite woman about 30 yrs old . She had a smile on her face and leaned over to my ear and whispered " sir , your fly is open " . Being a very modest and relativly shy person , I immediatly turned away and fixed myself . I was so embarassed , I could feel my face turn red and the beads of sweat actually form on my forehead . I turned back around and thanked her for telling me , exchanged a little chuckle , and turned back towards the counter . With my back to her , I could still hear her giggling under her breath , obviously trying not to be too loud . She had one of those laughs that when you here it , you cant help but start giggling too . Before we knew it , we were both laughing histerically , and honestly , didnt know why . I couldnt take it any longer and said I was gonna step outside for a minute to recover a bit . To my suprise , she followed me out and we giggled the entire way. Once outside , we started regaining our composure and began to talk . We must have talked for nearly thirty minutes or better . The lines inside hadnt died down , in fact , had only grown larger while we were talking . I asked her if she had time to run down the road and meet for a drink . She smiled and accepted . We both got into our own cars , and she pulled out bihind mine and followed me about five miles to this really quiet little piano bar I know of .
I parked my truck near the front and watched as she pulled in a few spaces over . I walked to meet her and we walked inside together . Club sillouette is a very nice , dimly lit with candles and the best ambiance lighting I had seen . Amongst all the laughter and talking , I realized I didnt even know this womans name yet . I slowely reached out my hand and said " Hi , my name is Alan . "

Hiya,

Welcome to the SRP board.

I notice you post in lots of the discussion forums and that this seems to be your first story?

If you're still looking for a partner, I'd love to share this with you.
I find writing in the first person quite difficult. I like the ability to use description and comment via narrative, that said, I've had a go at it and hope it suits.

Please post here or PM if you have any comments.

If you have a player or prefer not to write with me or simply don't want to do this story, then please tell me here or in PM and I'll remove my post.

Either way, best wishes.

Post office queues were the bane of my life. Lunch time was the worst possible time for getting to a counter in less than half an hour, which is why I made sure to get there early morning or late afternoon. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the lines and seriously considered giving up immediately, after all I could send this express tomorrow just as easily.

I’d just made up my mind to wait 15 minutes and no more when I caught sight of him just ahead of me. I'm into people watching as much as the next person, especially when bored out of my mind but this time my attention was caught by quite an unexpected part of his body. I glanced away quickly determined not to look or comment. It wasn’t any of my business anyhow. But you know what it’s like. Just when you don’t want to look at a particular person or at a particular … thing … you just find your eyes drawn to that place. I couldn’t help another peek then forced myself to look away taking out my diary, checking through plans for the week, anything to stop me glancing downwards.

And then the miraculous happened and the queue moved forwards, but not ours. I heard a heavy sigh in front of me and looked up at him before I thought about it. He seemed nice. Bored and impatient like me, but there was a smile tugging at his mouth. I could just guess his thoughts. “Why am I always in the slowest queue?” Happened to me all the time too!
Feeling a sudden sympathy for him, I really felt I had to say something … about … his state of undress, so before I lost my nerve, I tapped him on the shoulder.

His response was a picture!
He seemed so embarrassed, but thanked me nicely enough though I couldn’t help but giggle as he turned away to adjust himself. He glanced back round, chuckling himself which set me off. All around us people were looking fed up and miserable. Some even shot the odd disapproving look, but that only made us laugh more as we tried to control our humour. It wasn’t as if it was that funny really but …

Finally he gave up and went outside, more likely to have a good laugh, rather than because we were still miles away from getting any service. It didn’t take me long to decide to do the same. I wasn’t going to waste the rest of my day standing in a line surrounded with disapproving glances. That thought alone made me giggle as I came out of the door and all but bumped into him outside.

It was strange, but we just got talking, about the post office mainly and the lousy service. He had a package to have weighed, I told him I wanted to send a document recorded delivery. The queues weren’t going down at all, so I told him I was going to call it a day, come back tomorrow morning as that was the best time and he joked about me spending my life in Post Office lines. It felt like that sometimes for sure …

Even though we were getting on fine, his offer to go for a drink still kinda took me by surprise. I’m quite chatty and people usually pass the time of day with you if you’re friendly enough but it seemed he wanted to do more than just share mundane chat. I quickly checked out his ring finger. Nothing there, though that didn’t necessarily mean he wasn’t married. Anyhow a drink couldn’t hurt and I’d got my car and he had his truck so we wouldn’t be having much anyhow …

”This is a great place, I’ve never been here … “

I told him as we were seated at a quiet table. Despite the fact is was still daylight outside the lighting was subdued and candles burned on the tables. It could have been termed a romantic setting, but at this time of day, I noticed there were small groups and a few couples who just seemed to be having a late afternoon drink at what must be the beginning of when people left work.

" Hi , my name is Alan . "

His voice pulled me back from my thoughts. Instantly I laid my hand in his.

”Hi Alan, I’m Maxine … “

He had a firm handshake and a friendly smile. I loved guys with a sense of humour and the club certainly showed he had taste.

”Dry white wine … “

I gave my order to the waiter, pleased that I had come out in the little black pencil skirt and white blouse. The place didn’t seem too formal but most of my casual clothes when I was working at home wouldn’t have been suitable.

”So… this is a regular place for you Alan?”

I enquired trying to gauge what kind of guy he was socially.

”I’m sure it gets busier later on in the evening, doesn’t it?”

My hand played through the dark sleek bob that hung loose in my neck, as I watched him talking. He really was very … “fanciable” … I realised my usual fair skin pinking at the unexpected train of my thoughts. Fortunately the waiter chose just that moment to bring the drinks over.

inside ....

I casually glanced up and looked into her eyes as she put her hand out . Softly putting her hand in mine , I pulled it to my lips and gave it a small little kiss...

Maxine , she said as she introduced herself to me

“It’s a pleasure to meet you”

Her hand felt so small and delicate in mine . Her skin was so soft and smooth .

Merlot ... I said to the waiter . I’m not a big drnker , but a nice glass of wine sure sounded good . I figured for sure I would be nervous with this beautiful woman , but I’m actually feeling very comfortable with her .
There wasnt many people in the club this time of day , so seating was not a problem . Unlike the other times I had been here . Club Sillouette has been a favorite spot of mine for years now . Theres not many places around here to actually sit down and have a decent conversation and a drink or two that didnt blow your ears out with the loud music or the typical drunks hanging around . Looking around , I see a few eyes looking over toward her. I have to admit , I cant blame them , she is afterall a beautiful lady . To the right of the bar area , is a few tables in the open , and behind them is a single booth enclosed on three sides , and a rose on the table , glistening from the candle in the center . I think maxine spotted it about the same time, as she gave me a small head nod and began walking toward the booth . I let her sit down first , and quietly sat down across from her as the waiter walked up with two glasses of wine . He placed a nice burgundy napkin down in front of each of us , then set her white wine in front of her, and then my merlot . I reached for my glass , held it up for a quick toast ....

“Heres to new friends”

As our glasses gently touched , I glanced up and noticed she was looking at me aswell . She has the most beautiful brown eyes I had ever seen ... they are amazing . I can see the reflection of the candlelight in them .

Over the past five years I have thrown myself into my work , and havent dated much . I’m feeling incredibly at ease with her .Her delicate smile has such a warming effect on me . I only hope that she is just as comfortable with me .

“This is so much better than the post office line , I’m very glad that you accepted my offer “ Maxine has very pretty dark hair and a complection that looks flawless in this candlelight . I am absoluly smittin with her . Having not been out with a woman in sometime now , my mind is racing with thoughts .... Looking at her petite little hands , I notice several rings , but nothing on her ring finger ...

In an attempt to get closer to her , I lean forward at the table , trying my best to take in the incredible smell of her perfume .

“Maxine , you smell absolutly incredible .

“Heres to new friends”

We clinked glasses and I sipped appreciatively at the well chilled wine.
Glancing round I admired the subtle décor and settled back with a sigh into the secluded booth, then leaned forward raising the glass to idly sip again.

“This is so much better than the post office line , I’m very glad that you accepted my offer “

I giggled then remembering the circumstances of our meeting. I was pleased we had met. I had hardly expected to be in a club sharing a drink with a gentleman when I had set off for the Post Office just over an hour earlier.

“Maxine , you smell absolutly incredible .”

His words and his sudden proximity made me feel suddenly self conscious. It wasn’t the type of compliment I had expected, in fact it had been a while since I’d been the recipient of any kind of attention and wasn’t sure how to react.

”Thank you ... Alan ...“

I managed to utter, lowering my eyes and playing with the glass stem knowing my cheeks were flushing hotly.

”This does make a nice change … “

I ventured, attempting to change the subject.

”I assume this is a regular haunt of yours then..?”

I repeated, having seen several glances in our direction.

”Tell me about yourself Alan … “

I prompted more comfortable to turn the attention away from his observations about me.

”Are you married? Divorced? Single? “

I hoped I didn’t sound too hopeful as I watched for his response.

"Do you work around here..?"

I guessed he was in his 30s, early to mid 30s maybe.
Chances were he was attached in some way, or had “baggage”. Didn’t we all?
But still … I wondered what he would tell me, if anything …

" I'm glad you like this place , Maxine , I had a good feeling that you and I would enjoy it here . I've only been a few times , and always been impressed with the atmosphere here."

Hearing the soft jazz music playing in the background , really gave this encounter an amazing vibe . Afterall , With me being reletivly new to the dating scene again , I had anticipated being nervous . But Maxines soft smile and warm glances had me feeling as if I known her forever.

"The few times I've been here , have always been during business meetings with clients , so even though our conversations revolved around investments , and money matters , I knew this was the place to take someone special ."

I had hoped I didnt sound to forward by saying that , but I wanted Maxine to understand I wasnt a player , and really did have an interest in her.

" So do you have anything planned for later or is your evening open too , Maxine ?" Hopeing she was available to spend some time with , maybe even into the night . It is Friday night afterall , and I had no plans whatsoever.

I couldnt help but smile everytime she looked me in the eyes . They were telling me something , I just wasnt sure exactly what , just yet , but I new I liked it . Taking a risk , I slid my foot close to hers , under the table , gently touching it , as to not appear to obvious . God she's cute , what i wouldnt do to just take her into my arms and kiss her beautiful lips . I wanted some sort of physical contact with her , even if its only playing " footsies" under the table . The last thing I want to do is come on too strong and run her off .
