Some of you may have heard of these awards. They've been around for a very long time, but have been on a very long hiatus. The awards are finally back with a new, much easier to use website.

http://clitoridesawards.org/

The Clitoride Awards are a "bragging rights" competition with no prizes other than recognition of the story or author at the end of the competition when the winners are decided.

Currently, the site is taking nominations for the year 2013. Any story written and posted to a site that is free last year is eligible to be nominated, so long as the posting date is clearly displayed. The nomination period lasts through the end of next month.

In previous years, the forms have been a bit wonky about accepting Lit links, but with the new website, they go through without a hitch. Some Lit authors and stories have already been nominated ( TxTallTales and silkstockingslover are two I noticed )

There are many categories, so you might want to read the description of the categories before making your nominations. Stories can be nominated in multiple categories as well.

One special category is the "Classic Clitoride" which is for stories five years or older. So even your old favorite can be nominated for an award if it's within that range. This category has no divisions, so stories of any length or genre are all in competition with each other.

I'll bump this link back up when the finalists have been determined and the voting period begins. Finalists are determined by the number of nominations, so you can support Lit authors who have already been nominated by adding your vote to their existing nomination. There are no limits on nominations, so you can nominate multiple stories in the same category. No need to make a decision between them during the nomination process.

Go nominate your favorite Lit authors and stories!

Linked it from the front page. Hopefully that'll generate a few nominations!

In the past, the nominations, voting period, and placing have generated a nice number of new eyes on your work, too. Mine that placed as runner-up in the Erotic Horror category a few years ago got a nice boost all throughout the process.

During the beta testing of the new site, I linked one that's on my website as a test nomination, and there were quite a few referrals from the site even then.

So, it's a good way to point potential new readers to a favorite author :)

I thought this contest had gone away. I know Lit had a few winners over the years, Selena Kitt and DG Hear come to mind. Looks like it's back after a 7 year hiatus. I know it's only good for an ego boost, but it's interesting to see what's popular elsewhere, since 90% of the votes are all the Storiesonline crowd, who are hosting the contest.

I randomly selected a dozen past winners to read and every single one was a broken link or behind a pay wall. That might be because they are old stories, but it left me with the impression that the contest and the site are useless. Just my opinion of course.

They were most likely SOL stories. It's not behind a pay wall. You just have to sign up for a free account. There's a good chance many of them are also available here on Lit. I know mine is :D

Part of the reason I wanted to post this here is because Literotica has always been so poorly represented in the Clitorides. That's mainly been due to the forms used to nominate stories refusing to accept Lit links in years gone past.

Now that it finally has a website that's doing things right, it's time to see Literotica authors recognized as well :)

Thanks Dark!

Authors might want to be aware that even though there's a lot of overlap in the categories, you can't nominate one story in multiple categories from the same email address, so I guess you should pick whichever category seems like your best shot.

Also, might be just a coincidence, but shortly after some kind soul nominated me I noticed a bunch of 1-bombs or 2-bombs hitting my stories. Whatever the source, they got swept off again after I reported it.

 I ticked a story that is nominated in two different categories, and both nominations were accepted according to my account summary.

Maybe you can't be the first to nominate a story in multiple categories? Or maybe there's a difference between signing up and just entering your email address for each nomination?

All I can say for certain at this point is that if you have an account, and the nomination has already been made, you can second ( or third, or forty-fifth ) a nomination for a story in multiple categories.

Hm, I'll have to try it again some time. I didn't sign up so that might be it.
