There is a post on Fetlife about a clicker training and it's near me. (I think it's like a pet training tool?)

Anyway, as I was reading it I wasn't thinking of it in PYL/pyl sense (mine really wouldnt' have the patience to do it, except if it would help me stop the nail biting LOL)

I was thinking...could I use this on the kids? or my co-workers? Or even strangers in line at the grocery store? I mean, really, it's so appealing to think of people ending thier annoying behavior by me clicking something at them ROFL

That really wouldn't work with me, though. I'd just go out and find a clicker to click back at you. ;)

If I could train the kids at work with the clicker, my job would be so much bloody easier.

From what I know of pet clicker training, it's not so much about ending undesirable behavior as reinforcing positive behavior. Like when the puppy attempts to sit on command, potties outside, goes in her crate, etc., you start by clicking on the positive behavior and giving a treat (whatever that is to the animal). Eventually, the dog associates the click with the treat and good behavior, and you can start removing the treat, so the click becomes the positive reinforcement.

I don't know how well it'd work on humans, but I suppose it (or any sound) could be used to reinforce positive behaviors with enough training.

The sound of a clicker pisses me off so I wouldn't be doing it or responding well to it. I do like the idea of controlling others when they are horrible though! I'd prefer a mute button in particular.

:rose:

I think this is kind of a silly idea when it comes to humans. Saying "Good job honey" would be much better than the impersonal dehumanization of pressing on a button at them.

I wish I knew how to use a "tongue in cheek" smilie, because it really was a post meant in jest. I don't think I could be conditioned with the sound of clicking in any way.

But I would love to be able to click something at annoying people and get them to stop. But if my dirty loooks don't work, I doubt a clicking sound will either :-(

I personally want a button on my dashboard that when I press it, the person driving in front of me gets slapped upside the head.
