The story: Craig and Maura have a perfect marriage until she goes to England with their kids to spend the summer with her parents. Craig is 39, Maura is 30-something.
One night Craig goes out with a pal and collides with Clemmie (Clementine). Clemmie is 23 and rich. She's beautiful and wild. The pal hits a cop and goes to jail, Craig is picked up by Clemmie. She offers Craig a lift home but they never get there. They went to Heaven or Hell, I'm not sure.
I wont disclose the rest of it but its a Loving Wives tale from Hell. If you wanna cheat on her or him the book offers tutorials. If you wanna become a cuckold all you need to know is in this book.
Some reviewers compare it to FATAL ATTRACTION. Not really. Its a train wreck on many levels but Clemmie isn't violent.
I'm impressed with how MacDonald depicted the sex. There's plenty in this book. But little in the way of explicit intercourse. MacDonald goes for the seduction and concealment. Many of Maura's girl friends go after Craig. His old secretary tries to drag him into the woods, under the noses of her kids and mother.
