I'm in the process of polishing up my first submission.

It's fairly long, but I've read some single stories that are about as long or longer.

Although the main theme is group sex, there is an incest component. Which category would be most appropriate? Alternatively, I could break it up into two parts submitted in two separate categories.

Suggestions please.

The main theme is Group Sex, put them both in Group Sex, it'll be easier for the reader to find.

Laurel doesn't always put stuff where the author thinks it should go anyway, she's usually right anyway.

Thanks for your response.

From either a posting or help with a volunteer editor, is a single long story better than one with chapters?

It depends on the story. There was one I clicked into that was 8 webpages long, I didn't read it, it was too long and my attention span isn't that wonderful.

I find that three webpages is the max to hold my attention, for instance, Marc Singer wrote a wonderful story called Roberta, I think, and it took me two times through to read it, 4 web pages long.

If you have a long story that can be chopped up into separately posted chapters, i.e. you can find a beginning, a middle, and an end to each chapter, then that is usually easier for me, as a lit reader, to read. If you can't do that, then perhaps posting as a single long story would be better.

I would suggest you browse the archives, read the multipart stories, read stories that have lots of webpages and one part. Figure out what you think is better for your story and which is not. It all depends on the story.
